so indecisive!

So Its due time to replace my G35 and I don't think I've ever been so indecisive in my entire life when it comes to what to replace it with. I'm thinking I'll spend in the 40-50k range (earlier I was thinking AMV8 but I think Id like to spend more for things around the house and those are a bit more)

There is so much competition in that range. I want something fast, comfortable and looks good. Preferably 2 door with rear seats (no matter how small). This WILL be my DD. So many thoughts have crossed my mind:

01-02 996TT Fast, but the design is old and the interior is lacking.

08 E92 M3 coupe fast but will be more "common" as they age plus I dont like the dash.

06 M6 500 hp V10 nice interior, more exclusive, but will be replaced soon, heavy car, exterior not as nice as the E92 IMO. 13 mpg lol

06 M5 same motor as the 6 but aging design, 4 door, even heavier.

I've also considered a C6 Z06, hella fast but lacking interior and passenger room "plastic"

CLS55 AMG Big heavy 4 door barge but fast and good looking, reliability can be spotty

ISF not as fast as i'd like and 4 door but lexus reliability.

my 3 main competitors are 996TT, and M3 or M6, the m6 edging out slightly because of the interior/features/exclusivity but the m3 exterior is sexier...

Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions?

2 year old non-AMG CLS with rims.

Why non AMG? I love power without it it's just another big heavy sedan.

Brand new CTS-V? I am pretty sure you can get one under 60k with the discounts GM is offering.

You Beat me to it, but I second your choice, why not the S5, and soon there will be an RS5 to consider but it will not be $55k.

MB has the new E Coupe/Sedan choices. Not first on my list because they are both AT's and started stripped with the lower 350 at $49K. BUT the 550 coupe will beat out almost everything coupe wise with 382 HP- too bade loaded its over $60k. But you get sedan and coupe choices.

I am having almost the same issue, but worse because I am in the windy city...

The S5 would hav to be my first choice in this range because i live in a northern climate, so I am worred about RWD vs AWD, and the 335 does not have limited slip, so I am thinking it would be worse in the winter. I could save some coin with the 335 XI and still get a coupe with an MT, but it has less overall style then both the G37 the S5, the G37 these days has some nice buy incentives but the X is an AT only, regardless of how good the new AT is.

The FX has even started catching my eye. I was not a fan at first, but these days the 50 has what, 390 HP? even at 303 the FX35 is 1 fast small SUV that is supposed to be very car like. I might have to test drive it as well to rule it out, or not...

I have herd the M6 is a very expensive car to maintain, its drop dead sexy for a long nose coupe, but if i was in M territory, I would have to look at the M3 because it does have Lim Slip and better more aggressive looks then the rest of its 3 sibilings.

Used turbo engines concern me, how hard were they driven and were they put away to hot? Turbos can melt if you ride them and dont let them cool down, many unknowing drivers just arrive, park, and shut the engine off too soon to allow for proper cooling of the hair dryers.

Good luck, I have to go do some test drives this month myself. O, and 1 more bothersome little pain in the AZZ - CHICAGO residents pay more in tax then regular IL surburban residents, to the tune of 9.25% on a new or used car from a dealer!!!!!!(*&^%$#$%^&*(&^%$#%^&*

To me it would be down to the M3 or ISF. ISF is not fast enough for ya? And you did say 'comfortable', right?

Technology and materials have come a long way. It is a myth now that the turbos can't handle extreme temperature changes. Manufacturers have taken into account that the average consumers don't know what a turbo timer is or how to use them.

If you're unsure, why not keep the G until you have a firm decision or at least an inclination toward one?
