M45

I've seen the Infiniti website concerning the new "concept" M45 (2005), but was wondering if anyone has any more info on this beautiful and 'tempting' ride.

Yes I'm seriously thinking...........

Re: M45

I couldn't agree more mate..this could be the next one. If you go into the site there is a password protected area (mine was "secret)..it's got a couple of video clips..all in all a very nice piece of machinery.

Re: M45

That's probably one of the cleanest looking engine bay I've seen in a sedan.

Here are some more pics for people that haven't seen it yet: http://nissannews.com/multimedia/concept2005/m45.shtml

Got no info on our Infiniti site up here...only info available is on Infiniti.com, including US pricing.
I'd like to know a little more of what available and pricing up here. I guess eventually they'll update our website.

Come on next spring...............wooohoooo.

Re: M45

Gseadan, I recentley got a brochure in the mail, after registering for updates on infiniti.com. It's pretty much the same stuff they show on the site, a nice exterior pic, interior pics and just some of the technical/powertrain options.

Re: M45

Damn that's cool bro. Eventually Infiniti Canada will get them and have a Canuck version. Nice to know they're out there.
I tried the update thing, but they won't send out of USA., and our Canadian site doesn't list the '05 M yet.

We won't get as big a choice of options that you will. Ours, like the G's, will be lumped together into 2 or 3 'packages'.

My biggest concern at the moment is $$$$$$. haha. The one I "built" on the .com website was about $60k USD. ugggggg.

Convert that to our $$$ and its about $84k CDN.. That's a bit much.

So we'll see if they give us Canucks a break on the price like they did with the G's.........Hope so.

I'm gettin' the 'fever' again.....

Colin.

Maybe they don't like you Colin , I've gotten that brochure too, as well as one for the Q45, but I think I signed up at their website.

Yeh that's a great shot of its hind end. I like this one too of the rear quarter:

Our Canadian site is Infiniti.ca, but is way behind your US site, and has no 'Concept' feature.

Re: M45

Gsedanman, just yesterday I was thinking about writing a post similar to your post. I have been so busy at work, that I have just been reading the posts on my "ahem" lunch hour.

I have the new M45 as my screensaver, I am constantly building it on the Infiniti website. I love that car. The G really moves with 260 horses so I cannot even imagine what the M45 will do.

Yeah the way I want it would be pricey too! Cost is major factor. I think we all know Infiniti will not be offering any deals. This car is going to be in demand and negotiating will be limited.

One question why make an M35, with the same horsepower as a G with all-wheel drive. Is that for those who wish to step up in luxury, but not in horsepower. Doesn't the G35 X serve that purpose?

Is Infiniti going to come up any other new sedans or coupes in the future? I have an idea I'll save that for my next post.

DKnibb my Emerald mist G has 28K miles and still looks soooo pretty!!!

Re: M45

Hey Darryl,
That ride has really gotten under my skin. I'm hooked already and I don't even know what it'll cost here in Canada (or even if it'll be available).
I've read all there is to read on the .com website, and it sure paints a beautiful picture of luxury and performance. From what they say, a distinct step up from our G's, more in line with a sporty version of the 'Q', but more affordable. ( I hope.).
Performance wise, the 'M' will be similar to our G's with a 0-60 time in the 6 second zone or slightly less, but with the extra 'heft' I doubt it will be as agile.
I don't know about you, but I'd gladly give up a little agility, in favour of a little more bottom end torque, and all those amenities inside. The eye candy effect of that gorgeous body to my mind is unmatched.....even prettier than the G-Sedan.

The 'M35' fills the need for those who don't want/need a V-8, but want to step up to all the rest that the 'M' is, and have the option of all wheel drive. ---- If the price of oil continues skyward, a V-8 may not be feasible for many, and the slightly more economical V-6 would be more favoured. (Not by me tho.-- I'll settle for nothing less than a V-8).

Emerald mist in the Sedan is real pretty, as is my Silverstone Coupe, but I'd trade in a hearbeat if the terms are right for a Serengeti Sand Sport V-8 M. hmmmmmmmm.

I'm even hypnotized by the soooooothing tune the Concept site plays. ..... They've got me hooked.

If you get any more info, please post. I'm starved for details.

Colin.

Re: M45

Thanks for replying Gsedanman, yup we think alike, they say friendship is two bodies, one mind. I too would want the V8. I love horsepower. Though I now drive everyday to work in Westchester, (recently relocated) NY and really need an all wheel drive car.

Good answer regarding the reason for the M35. Hmm a V6 is more practical for most. I see many more FX35 than FX45s. Point taken.

My heart wants the V8, but reality and being practical tells me to look at the M35. Well my lease does not the end of 2005 so we'll see. I am going to Infiniti website to build a M35...

Take care,
Dknibb
