Getting a Lease/Beater... Suggestions?

Check my sig and you'll see what i got.
Been two months since i got the car and i've got 6k miles on it. I'm saying [censored] it. I love the car too much to abuse it like this. Also, looking to share the car with family. (I live with parents, traditional asian thing)

So i'm willing to spend $400 a month for a lease. Anyone know what's available? I'm looking to do $2k-$3k for drive-off.

We've got a wealth of knowledge about Gs and other cars on this forum.. so please offer your suggestions..

Thanks everyone,

If you're getting a "beater" to put a lot of miles on, then a lease is a bad idea since most allow 12K or 15K miles per year and then charge you anywhere from $.15 to .25 for miles over the limit.

sentra is my daily driver. decent mileage, good deals to be had.

can take a beating.
i regularly run sentra at 80-90 mph. i do lots of hwy driving.
mechanics have also backed up my impression. it isn't perfect, but is does the job.

What about a base 2.5SL Altima? Can get them at good deals and they are room and fun to drive.

$400 a month can get you a 350z or another Gcoupe if you wanted it for probably less to have your fun with!! But if you want something less expensive and i guess "beater" to have fun in? Or just travel? Get a subaru wrx sti or something like that!!

A "beater" for $400 a month?!? That's more than most Americans pay for a brand new, nice car. Not sure what you classify as a beater.

My buddy has a modded out Maxima, and bought as a "beater" an 87? Sentra with 140K on it for $400. TOTAL, not per month. So far he's put another 40K on it w/no problems. OK well one problem - his sunroof flew off while on the highway, so he put a scrap piece of metal over the opening!

Re: Getting a Lease/Beater... Suggestions?

I'm assuming you would want something that's $400 with tax included, and not too much cash down.

I really liked the 04 Pontiac base grand prix for the price. I think I was quoted under $24000 CDN for one a few months ago. The 3.8 V6 has lots of usuable low end torque, which made it fun to drive. Plus, its a large car, so it can do all the family stuff as well. Its a lease, so you'll only have it when the warranty is on, so reliability is not an issue.
