I'm Falling For The SLK350

Yup, you read correctly. I LOVE THE NEW SLK350 with the AMG appearance package. Can't wait to see this car in person and for the SLK55 later.

DAYAM!!

Re: I'm Falling For The SLK350

Definately an upgrade over a G35C. SLK350 can out race a 911 carrera convertible! Hardtop!

Re: I'm Falling For The SLK350

Mercedes reliability and quality have been a real shame in the last 5 years. Also, why can't they put a normal looking hood on this otherwise beautiful car? I still like it though. Hardtop convertibles at reasonable price is very hard to resist. I'd definitely recommend one over the Boxter, Z4, TT or 350Z Roadster.

Re: I'm Falling For The SLK350

I saw one of these in Taiwan (being transported on a truck) back in June. Definitely a great looking ride. It's probably the only Benz that looks better than the G IMHO.
Too bad it's going to cost $50k with Benz reliability.

Re: I'm Falling For The SLK350

I think the nose looks kinda funny but other than that it's nice. Doesn't the SL65 carry the same nose?

SL nose is just how every other SL is, it doesnt have the same front end "nose" look, they took the SLR Mclarens front end and put it on the SLK, but its not as nice as the SLR's but still hot.

Re: I'm Falling For The SLK350

My family had a 1992 MB 300E before the G35 and reliability was never a real issue. The car ran great, so as said before, maybe it just as of late where reliability isn't good. I heard the new E-Class had alignment issues as well. I guess it's all a part of buying first year models of a redesign.

I would definitely consider the SLK350 as a next car once my G35 lease is over in 2006. But by that time, I'll have so many other cars to choose from as well.

Re: I'm Falling For The SLK350

Older Mercedes’ were tanks, very durable and lasted a long time with few problems. But the newer Mercedes' are getting cheaper in quality and are having problems, especially the ’98 and ‘99 ML320 SUV’s coincidently the year they merged with Chrysler. Chrysler’s quality is now going up while Mercedes has dropped.
