honda s2000

Hello fellas,

I was a former owner of 2003.5 auto and 2003.5 6mt g35 sedan. I recently bought a honda s2000 and I must say...it's an amazing machine. The car handles....awesome. I also got a chance to drive the 6mt coupe and the z, but decided to go with the s instead...sorry I betrayed you guys...heheh.
Anyhow, if you guys see me on the road...be nice.

Just to let you know...I'm not a complete trader as I still own a fx35...lol

Re: honda s2000

The S2000 is an excellent car, each has its strengths. The S2000 has excellent reliability, & the handling is outstanding.

Re: honda s2000

Yeah I liked the s2000 too, but I'm to big, it was a convertible, so it didn't make a good daily driver.

Its still a nice car!

Re: honda s2000

Yeah, the S2000 has great handling. Nice gearbox too. I am really getting tired of how damn *heavy* this car feels (3400+ lbs is no fun). It must feel very different and refreshing driving the S2K!

Re: honda s2000

thanks. yea, the car is a bit small...but im only 5 10 so im fine. the car drives like a gokart. it is completely a different car compare to the z or the g. However, the g feels stronger due to bigger displacement and more torque.

Re: honda s2000

So sick of buzzy little 4 cylinders. The feeling of two extra cylinders is irreplacable. I've driven the S2000 and it felt more like a go cart than a sports car. The looks simply can not be compared to that of the G35 coupe, it is boring, looks like a wedge of cheese and has no torque. Just stating my opinion. Everyone can yell at me now )

Re: honda s2000

I'd rather have that new Lotus Elise, very few cars could touch that in handling (1.06g on the skid pad) and 0-60 in 4.4, 1/4 mile 13.2s. Too bad they didn't stick an S2000 engine in that or a turbo engine like the ones in the older Toyota MR2's, it would've been even quicker.

Re: honda s2000

buzzy engine...agree
no torque...agree
wedge of cheese...dunno about this one

everyone has their own taste and style, i personally think the g coupe is too big for me...and the fun factor is less than the s2k. I chose s2k over g coupe, z, z4, etc, because it was the closest thing to the bike. Some of you might not like the high-reving, gokart like handling, but I love it! As for the elise, it's a great machine...too bad it's not street legal.

Regardless...g coupe, z, s2k, they are all great cars...it's just a matter of personal style and taste.

Re: honda s2000

The 2005 Lotus Elise is street legal in the US.* But it cost more then the S2000.

BTW, here's the Elise in C&D the S2000 is in there too:

Re: honda s2000

I didn't know elise was street legal. I was watching motorweek and when they tested the car they said it wasn't street legal. I know s2k is not exactly a luxury cruiser but compared to the elise...more practical.

Re: honda s2000

Yea, in C&D they said the S2000 was the most civilized out the group. The Elise is the closet production car to a go kart. Just a weekend toy.

The older Lotus Elise's aren't street legal here. Just the new 2005 Elise with a 190HP Toyota engine.

Re: honda s2000

See my testdrive impressions of the Lotus Elise in my "Lotus Elise" thread in this section. My brother has one on order; he should be taking delivery Summer, '05. I test drove an Elise about a month ago, and experienced why it's an S2K killer (although I agree the S2K is a much better everyday car)! My neighbor has a modded Honda S2K.
