Who here has/had a BMW E30?
Hey everyone I'm just wondering who here has had or still has a BMW E30. As some of you may know I'm currently looking for a winter ride so my g can be garaged. I found a 1988 BMW 325i sedan with 161,xxx. It has red racing seats, its slammed(by my standards), has wheels.

But there is a few problems,
1. The car overheats and needs new head gaskets
2. Needs a new radiator
3. The mileage on the gauge cluster just stop working
4. 3 windows need new window motors.

He's asking 1200 buy got him down to $800.
Now do you guys think this would be a nice fixer upper project? I mean I searched eBay for a new head gaskets and its around $70/220 and a new radiator is around 150. I don't know where to find a new gauge cluster since the mileage doesn't work .

Are e30's easy to work on?

Just get a civic man, same price less problems lol.

IDK man, seems like a good deal for 8 bones but it could also be a disaster.

Yea I know rwd sucks in the winter time but I just love e30's ever since I seen them on the aggressive/stretched thread lol. Hopefully this winter won't be as bad as last winter. But I wouldn't just use the e30 for winter , I would use it for my daily and just take the g out on nice days

If you want a german car get a VW corrado . I used to have one g60 4 banger supercharged from factory. It was hella fun. Too bad i didnt know smack about them back then, so i had to let it go. If what i know now, i knew then, i woulda still been having it.

The head might be warped, there might be more issue than a simple overheat. Have you changed a head-gasket before? Its not exactly easy on that car. Its an old car and is going to need more parts replaced/repaired later. They are easier to work on than the newer BMW but less so than cars like Civics/Corollas.

actually, bmw's e30's do pretty well in the snow. i would get a compression check done to make sure the overheating didn't do any other damage. other than that, $800 sound ok for a beater/fixer upper.
