saw 05 mustang gt

I was in huntington beach and as I was walking I saw a 05 white mustang gt with tints driving by. It looked pretty nice. I like how they took ideas from old and new and fused it together.

Re: saw 05 mustang gt

I drove next to a light blue GT this morning......underwhelmed. This car looked much less aggressive than the model at the Auto Show.

The panel fit and finish was superb, however. Much better than previous generations, IMHO.

I agree, the concept looked way better.

Re: saw 05 mustang gt

My wife and I have seen a few of them on the road, and we both agree (which isn't all that much ;-) that it's nothing special. In fact, I think Ford went a little too "retro" with this one. They should have designed it in a similar way to the Ford Thunderbird...somewhat retro but very futuristic. To me, the new Stang just looks like the old 60's Stang and the styling doesn't keep up with today's sleeker, cleaner lines. I don't like it; I even like the edgy styling of the Caddy's better. I'm sure the GT is fast as hell, but it's not for me.

Re: saw 05 mustang gt

I don't know, my opinion is still in the early stages, don't really know, have yet to see one on the road, having been a Ford guy before though, makes me agree with the earlier reply that it's cheaply built, especially the interior, Ford's interiors were always cheap! My '00 GT had a damned push pull switch for the lights, geez, LOL, maybe that was supposed to be "retro".

Re: saw 05 mustang gt

I saw one, though it was dark outside. It seemed bigger than I thought that it would be.

Re: saw 05 mustang gt

Seen one yesterday on my way home the interior is much better than the 99-04's not nearly as cheap feeling. th equality actually felt better than my 350Z IMO. I agree this retro stuff is going to far we see how well that overpriced T-Bird has done, the only one that has done well is the PT cruiser.

Re: saw 05 mustang gt

I agree that in stock form, it isn't the most attractive. I did see quite a few that were modified a bit at SEMA that looked really nice. I'm a big fan with the right wheels, spoiler etc.

Re: saw 05 mustang gt

I went and test drove a GT today.
Dealer had removed all the window invoice stickers and was trying to get way over list for the suckers who just have to have one of the first ones.
I do have a truck....but it doesn't have any turnips on it...and I didn't just fall off.
I was not that impressed.
No plans to trade the G.

Re: saw 05 mustang gt

I saw an entire truckload full of new Mustang GT's yesterday on route to the dealer. Not only are they the least bit impressive looking (still look way to retro for my taste..just like the McQueen "Bullet" Mustang), but they still have the same old '04 Mustang GT gray wheels...blah. Ford couldn't think of changing out the wheels? Like I said before, I'm sure it's fast as hell with 300HP, but it just looks just as cheap as the old hotrod.
