Audi RS6
Last week, while in San Francisco on business, a friend took me for a ride in her Audi RS6. This $85,000, 450HP Sport Sedan is truly one awe-inspiring vehicle. The engine makes a lovely purr you can feel in the seat of your pants, the suspension is tight and sporty, the twin turbos seem to have no lag, the interior materials are rich (leather seats, suede ceiling and pillars), and the RS6 branding appears everywhere (embossed in the seats, rocker panels, brakes, engine cover, etc).
It had a somewhat heavy feel to it, which makes sense because it is a heavy car. But is also felt as though it had the potential to respond to any input I gave it - VERY nimble and VERY powerful. Granted, we only got to take a short spin around the neighborhood before she had to go back to work, but I was impressed. For a bit more than twice the price, I believe the RS6 is far more than twice the car our beloved Gs are. BTW - this lady's husband is a car salesman. When she stepped into her garage to come to work that morning, she had to choose between the Ford F150 Lightening, the Porsche Boxster, the Mercedes CLK, and the Audi. Rough life, eh? -townsley- 03 Premium BS/Willow 5AT Sport Sedan Z-tube/K&N Air Filter/5-wire Grounding Kit Tinted/Clear Corners/Blinker Mod/Splash Guards Debadged/Aluminum Pedals/Rear JDM Lip Spoiler

Re: Audi RS6
Nice car, but I think the new M5 makes the RS6 obsolete, for about the same price.
Is either car worth the price? That's debatable. If I had more money than I knew what to do with, I would get a new M5. But when I'm working hard for my money, I would rather purchase a Caddillac CTS-V and throw a supercharger on it, and spank M5's all day long. But that's just me. 2003 G35C, 6MT, DG/G, Aero/Nav/Premium 2002 Corvette Z06, Electron Blue/Black, headers, intake, exhaust, 380 rwhp |

Re: Audi RS6
Yeah - having just read up on the M5 myself, I've gotta agree with you. That is one truly awesome vehicle. If I had that kind of money, I don't know what I'd do - maybe get a $40K cars instead of one M5. Then again, if I had that kind of money, I might be looking at things a little differently - like maybe I'd be shopping for yachts instead;-)
