which would you rather have?

i know Honda has made a few changes for the 2004-05 S2000, but which would you rather have? an 2002-03 s2000 that revs up to 9000rpm with a 2.0 litre engine or the 2004-05 S2000 that has a 2.2 litre engine that revs up to 8000rpm with a slight torque gain?

Definitely more torque......It's more important to me for everyday driving.

I agree with Gsedanman.

I'd go with the '04+ S2000 it has better low-end and mid-range power. And the subtle exterior changes makes it look a little better then '03 and down S2000.

Re: which would you rather have?

Definitely more torque. Who the hell wants to rev up to 9k all the time to get to the real power?

The best setup is throwing a supercharger on that bad boy - fixes its horrible torque problem, and fits in the engine bay nicely.

Re: which would you rather have?

I was asking the same question to myself whether to get the pre04 or 04...I decided to get the 04. The slight increase in torque seemed to help in the lower rpms and the subtle change on the exterior won me over. Not to mention the better shift feel due to carbon fiber synchros.

One think I wouldn't mind having from the pre04...9k redline. It feels awesome once the vtec kicks in...

And revised suspension gives more stability and control.

Re: which would you rather have?

My dad got a 2005 S2k and it feels better than the old one. I think they changed the gearing a little too in order to use the power better. The older s2ks you need to rev more to do what you want. Also the clutch is heavier in pre 04's. Got to S2Ki Forums for more info.
