Is this a correct comment
about the skyline GT-R's??
The Skyline V35 does come in awd but that only in the sedan model however its pretty much the same awd in the GTR but made for less sport and there there is a 2.5 V6 turbo awd Skyline V35 sedan but that like the base Skyline in Japan and the 350GT as for now is top of the line Skyline. Its still a Skyline and a delightful beast in its own way and all but in now way is it a GT-R. The V35(G35 in North America) is just a BMW 330I beater as to the next GT-R hopefull will be the M3/M5 beater. I bet this guy has a Accord or something and put some Skyline wannabe lights on the car, and those cheap and body kits then he went to pep-boys and got some GT-R emblems and says he owns a Skyline. |

Re: Is this a correct comment
Here's some info for the Skyline's of the past:
http://www.skylinegtr.com/STOCKLIST.html http://www.nissan.co.jp/MUSEUM/SKYLINE/ At this point I believe the V35 is only available in AWD in sedan form (G35X). I am not sure if the powertrain is the same as the past GTRs, but I doubt it is. There is a 2.5 liter engine for the V35 in Japan, but I doubt it is turbo charged (as far as I know there aren't any current Nissan engines being turbo charged). The 2.5L is the base engine in Japan with the 3.5L being the upgraded engine. You are correct that all current Skyline models are no where near the performance GTRs of the past. The next generation GTR, scheduled for release in 2007, will probably kill the current generation M3/M5, but don't look for BMW to sit on their butts while Nissan is doing this. I missed what the deal is with this guy you are talking about. I'm assuming he's saying that he's got a GTR (I assume either an R32, R33, or R34). Ask this guy to pop his hood and check his engine, the other thing to look for is a right hand drive on his car. |

Re: Is this a correct comment
I wouldn't say that the new GTR (R35 I guess), will automatically beat the M5. Many reviews have already declared the M5 as the most desirable sedan in the world... again. For the GT-R to beat the M5, it needs to bring more to the table than promise of easy tuning. I believe that Nissan can do it, but the Skyline is going to have to be one hell of a car.
Faster, faster, faster until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death.

Re: Is this a correct comment
Lotus has the handling contract and Cosworth is working on the engine for the 07 GTR, which Ghosn has promised the world. While I see the M3 (especially the next M3/M4, whatever it's designation) as the competition, since the 5 is a larger uber-sedan, by the aforementioned, I would surmise that Ghosn plans to take on the world with this bad boy.
