Best car for around $50,000

I'm going to be keeping my car for a little while but within the next year I will be purchasing another vehicle for around $50,000 or maybe a little less. What do you guys think about a Sequoia Limited? I could pick one up a couple years old for a decent price.

If you're looking for an SUV I wld recommend this generation of the Chevy Tahoe. I love that thing. Or the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Toyota trucks are nice, I've still got a 15+ year old 4Runner running strong. But I think for $50k I'd have to seriously consider a year or three old Porsche Cayenne Turbo or GTS if you're looking for an SUV. Lot of good choices out there in that range though.

This is why I suggested the P car SUV. Also, their CPO programs are incredible.

I think it really depends on what you need?

AWD? space? ease of access to the third row seat? driving pleasure?

I think Honda Odyssey Touring Elite is awesome if you need the space and access to third row seat, and don't need 4WD

Otherwise, Infiniti JX AWD looks pretty good too.

That Toyota is going to hurt you at the gas pump

I'm going to be commuting more next year...not a whole lot but driving 2 hours twice a week. The Sequoia is more comfortable for long trips, is very reliable and the gas mileage won't be that bad. My dad has a 2010 Tundra and he gets 22 highway--not bad for a 5.7. I know the sequoia will be a little worse but even 20 is not too bad. I don't need the space but I really like the seclusion, plus you have 381 horsepower whenever you want it and 4wd to back it up. I do live in snow country and an SUV is definitely better than even g35x just because it's higher. I also have a boat that I could tow with it. It's not critical but another perk. It only weighs about 2,000 pounds.

With everything you just listed I would absolutely look at Porsche. At the very least go test drive a used one and get a feel for it. Don't settle for anything less than the S model with the V-8. At your price range you have options for better equipped models as long as you're not dead set on brand new.
