interesting.. i never even considered a TL to compete with my 6spd coupe but apparently TL's are god's gift to man as long as they have the VSA off and get an oil change and Gs are the ugliest cars ever...

I've browsed maybe 4-5 Acura/Nissan boards where these same racing threads or comparison threads are cross-shopped and flamed all over. This arguement is now very old in the tooth.

Acura TL drivers are such squirrels....I posted on this a long time ago....the dealership I work for is a dual product-line group, so I'm certified in both the Acura and Infiniti....I'll put an 03 or 04 Sedan against a TL any day of the week...

Anytime I need a good laugh I just look on the TL board. the amont of misinformation is astounding. I think it's funny that they use the slowest G35 times and compare them to the fastest TL times.

I have driven the TL quite a bit. very comparable in speed to the G35. It's a nice car with a nice interior design. Unfortunetly I think it is plauged with numerous quality and material issues not to mention that its a FWD. Might be nice for snow folk but absolutely sucks otherwise.

I think the folks here on G35driver are more mature. and can acknowledge the weaknesses of our car while extolling its virtues.

i have to admit that before the G35 coupe came out, i was infatuated with the Acura CL Type-S. great car with lots of tasty options, but they obviously quit making it (in favor of the TSX? what a joke). plus when the G35 came out that instantly became my new love and has been ever since.

a friend of mine in Sacramento owned a 2001(?) TL Type-S, and that car was a riot to drive, but i would race it any day in my G35 coupe.

I have a CL Type S. Not a bad car, but it is a fwd. Pretty quick, is a nice GT car. Not a bad buy, but many are plagued with tranny problems. Luckily mine has not had any issues. Its got 75k on it and still runs good. Will be looking to buy a G coupe at the end of this year. I think the new TL is a nice looking car, but its fwd. All of my cars have been fwd so time for a rwd!

yah my friend had a really sick fixed up cl-s... the tranny went out 2 times, he was hoping for a 3rd so he could lemon it but he got in an accident before that happened... he spun out at 130mph, car was totalled, he came out without a scratch... very solid and safe ride

Look at the ages of the people that start and participate in these threads. Of course they are going to act like that and flame back and forth between these two cars. The G and the TL are direct competitors among the "I-just- graduated-and-daddy-is-buying-me-a-car" groups.

Plenty of punks driving TLs, but an equal number driving Gs too.

That said, I'm thinking of buying a G Coupe to keep my TL company. I looked at the G when I was shopping a year ago and it just wasn't practical. I also wasn't overly impressed since I had been looking at the body style for a couple of years prior, and the Acura was new & sharp.
