I don't think it takes FI to get the G under 5. You'll need every NA mod to accomplish this though. Pop charger/Z-tube, throttle body, plenum, crank pulley, lightweight flywheel and clutch, TS ECU, headers, cats, and exhaust should get you under 5. Depending on the source, you only need to drop .7 seconds. Then again, by the time you buy this stuff and pay for labor, you might as well get FI.

I saw the commercial.....The CTS-V has been out for a year now and is one of the fastest sedans on the market. With 400hp, it will do 0-60 in 4.7 secs, 1/4 mile in 13.1 sec. and it does not use FI. Cadillac really has a winner with these V-Model cars.

Wow, that's faster than a c6.

5.7L V8 engine 400HP; similar to the '05 'Vette C6 (that's now a 6.0L V8 400HP)...the CTS-V does 0-60 in 4.6 sec. according to Cadillac, which is just 0.4 sec. more than the 'Vette. It's also $50k base and is designed to compete (and blow away ) with the BMW M3!

Yeah, those were pretty cool ads - definitely got the message across. Its very clear they are targeting the BMW M and Mercedes AMG cars with their V-series. That XLR-V really has some nice lines to it. They didn't release specs yet, but I'm sure it will have the STS-V's supercharged Northstar V-8 with 440hp. Nice alternative to the SL500 for less cost too.

I'm a big fan of the CTS-V, and it may be a replacement for my G in a few years.

I corrected my original post. It was not 4.1 secs 0-60 but 4.7 seconds. 1/4 mile in 13.1 sec. (thats were I got the .1 I believe) I remember seeing a car show on tv and this car was topic. I was more than impressed with the performance numbers.

The local Caddy dealer has had the same CTS-V on their lot for about 3 1/2 months now... the msrp is like $52,500 and he told me he'd let me take it for $44,000 - I've also seen a ton of used ones on EBay for dirt cheap... that's the good thing about domestics, never have to worry about NOT getting a good deal on one!

That XLR-V is a mighty fine piece of machinery - I can't wait to see how it stacks up against an SL-55 AMG (what it's gunning for)...

I was kicking around the idea getting a CTS-V. It comes with an LS6 engine from what I understand. Mighty tempting.
