just went test driving
G35:
i just spent the entire day test driving and ive got some interesting comments. 1st i love the G35 EVEN more. I drove a G35 sedan 6SPEED WOW. i love the way that it handled and the way it railed up to 100mph+. also the ray catena he was really cool. i liked the way that it shifted and even though not all of u agree i actually though that the clutch was kinda light (before the flames come im comparing a diesel truck with a 6speed). i didnt feel the point of the G35x but it was snowing and the dealer kept repeating that that was the point that i wouldnt feel it "if u start skidding out to your death u wont feel it". TL the navigation system (which ray catena didnt have one with nav) was incredible much MUCH better then my moms E class. Also it has to be the DEATHEST car. By that i mean that u really dont get that great of feedback and u also have to really smash on the brakes to get it to stop. Also it manual mode was garbage. OOO, the dealer who was again a really nice guy, was impressed with my "driving ability". however in the quick left right turn by the dealership, i notice that the traction control or the stability cut in when i railed on the gas on the exits, really really annoying. it would chrip the tires and then out of nowhere it would violently cut in (actual jurks) 9-3 lol horrible HORRIBLE car. 240-50hp in FWD car BOOOOO torque steer TORQUE STEER 330i Interesting experience. i didnt know why but there was a used 2002 with nav, prem pack, xenon lights, etc that they really really wanted to move so i test drove. it is incredibly quick but if i hear that dealer tell me one more time that it is the best, i was gonna freak out on him. BTW originally they said that the car was going to be around 33k, then when i said i dont know its used he goes how does 27.5k sound? any way on the car, i personally dont see how its better, i know the interior is alot nicer, and its not as touchy in the brakes, but honestly i think the G35 interior is alot nicer. Mustang GT incredible car, till i hit a midcorner bump, like any live axle car, it jumped and wiggled, not too impressive. i left absolutely loving the car, impressed and willing to deal with the live axle. However, the dealer, being a dealer that wants to be "helpful" showed me that the interior lights change 144 different colors, 6 of which are different types of PINK!!! PINK!!!! RX-8 did any one else notice that the car beeps in the interoir round redline. i just kept going GAY humming it along. ALSO i had 3 people in the car, my girl, me, and the dealer. the car was no torque and my girl kept making fun on the beep. not cool, not cool at all 300C HEMI HEMI HEMI ---> THAT CAR HAULS A**. well thats pretty much was i think of the cars as im conteplating my next purchase. honestly the GT skyrocketed to 2 and the G35 are still at 1. but i have to be honest, the 3series (E46, i got no interest in dealing with I-drive which really is IT-DRIVES U) came into a strong 3rd. the rx-8 went from 2nd to not even wanted or desired. F**K that. so in general its between the G35 sedan 6sp, mustang, and 3 series (used) which is close between 2nd and 3rd, i would appreciate any imput |

Interesting that you're comparing the G35 sedan with the Mustang. Did you consider the G35 coupe?
Obviously the G35 is the choice for most around here, but if the Mustang GT feels comparable to a G35, it's like $10,000 cheaper isn't it? If you like how the Mustang performs, it leaves you with more money to do modifications compared to a G35. I'd skip the BMW, especially a used one. My uncle had all kinds of problems with his previous generation 7 series, including a failed transmission. |

i have
but honestly the sedan for me is just much more attractive because of the price (its cheaper than the coupe and way adds on is the fact that the coupe there seems to be no way to negotiate on it. on the sedan i really dont think there is an issue with me walkin out for 33k after taxes) the GT is just fun, simple fun. the G35 though has more of an aura and also more importantly its not the service department |

Well, please also test drive the Subaru Legacy GT B4 Limited. It looks mundane... BUT VERY FAST and fun. The interier quality is also good for what u are paying for. You might also want to check out the coming Mazdaspeed 6 AWD. I think it will be an interesting car.
btw, don't you think that the Hemi handling is a bit.... like a boat? I don't really suggest you to get the 330i now, cause the new one is coming out soon... so, the depreicate thing is a bit worrying for BMW cars, especially when there are so many of them on road. The reliability might also be ur concern for a used German car. I bought my 05 G35 sedan + premium + sports pack for 32K + tax etc, which I believe it is a much better deal than the 330i and C320. If you want to understand RX8's philosophy, you might want to check out topgear's review at viper 007. |

top gear?
i dont know if i liked the legacy i went in and out real quick. honestly it just doesnt look like that much of a difference from the old one and i still think the G35 is faster. one thing bout the MB now that u mention it is the C230 kompressor. i just think its so agonzingly slow and expensive but i love the way that it looks. also the hemi handling is completely forgiven, it didnt handle like a boat, it handled like my dads old departed E430, which it really it. i like it though, its solid and quick, thing is i have a hemi, and the current 8mpg in the city has permentaly scarred me. but that engine WHOA it RIPPS, and that noise.......... its a strong 4th |

hey why are all dealers interested in having use lease? are the residuals on the G35s really really good (lot better than the Z 20k for a 2yr old any one?)
granted 390/mo for a 6speed base is almost tempting so lease or own? |

Wow....amazing that you test drove all these cars in one day! You must have flashed a briefcase full of cash at the manager, especially since you are 20 (no offense meant, just most dealers are very stingy about test drives....let alone SEVEN).
What this the new model Mustang GT? If not, then I would stay away. All the older models are severly dropping in value. Also, was it a new G35 sedan? Or used? If new, I would prob say go with the G35 over the e46, if used, then only go with the e46 if you have warranty left on it (or can buy a decent extended warranty).

it was a new model, again i was shocked lacarddi had one let ALONE let me drive one. the G was new and im sorry but the E46 is almost completely out of mind, it was a 2002 btw and it was "certified" but again im still shocked by all the emails i got from dealers after strongly eargin me to lease, any one else got this? |

Maybe you should look at something like the Ford 500. They look roomy and performance wise not to shabby either. |
