New Car Time Almost
Personally I am debating several options right now. I am thinking about trading in the 2005 Acura TL for a 2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe. But the problem with that is, I already own a Nissan 350z as part of my garage. Therefore, I was thinking about purchasing a 2005 Honda S2000 (AP2). What are the G35 Driver's on this forum's opinions on this car? Im a huge nissan whore but somehow the Honda S2000 just seems to get my attention. I've driven the S2000 through the canyons with a couple of car buddies. And It is more nimble, quicker than my 350z. Just asking what you guys think of the car.

s200o is light and nimble. G35/350z are not.
S2000 is a great handling car. You have to crush it to get all the performance out of it, though. The G35 has a good torque curve so that you don't have to abuse the car to have some fun accelerating. The G35 is meant more for lots of miles and occasional fun vs. the S2000, which seems to be more for straight sport. G35 is not a bad car, but it will feel bloated and fat compared to an S2000. |

If you have a Z, get the G coupe. The Z is already very similar to a s2000; 2 seater sports car. The G coupe will be more like your acura tl. You never know when you'll need 4 seats. If you really can't decide....Honda or Infiniti

Don't worry, his other car is a Merc S430. Then, there's the new 2-seater C6 Corvette with 400HP and crazy speed for about $45k of course. Anyhow, the Honda S2000 is close to the Lotus as far as performance goes, it's about $10k less and can be tolerated as an everyday driver. My neighbor has a 2001 or 2002 Honda S2000, all modded out, and he just added a Vortec SC...it's freakin unreal (with about 350HP)! But, again, his company car he drives everyday is a Honda Accord. Or, if you want more of a combination of sports AND luxury, then it's hard to beat the best "bang for your buck" of the Infiniti G35 (Coupe or Sedan). Good luck!

bsgoren- To answer your question, Yes I have thought about about the Lotus Elise. The problem with that car is that 1) it is a high profile car that is in great demand right now. 2) the car is a tad bit cramped for my taste. Bascially what im looking for is a "daily driven" sports car. Since i live in Southern California, majority of the seasons have pretty decent weather. The S2000 is a convertible and would be a ideal car to have year round. Bascially the 350z and G35 Coupe are essentially the same car. One is more sporty, one is luxury. That is why I am still debating whether or not to spring for a G35 Coupe. I also have to be conservative of my car budget. Plan on purchasing a Maserati Coupe Cambiocorsa in about a year or so.
Thanks for all your opinions guys, especially to BSGOREN for your thoughts. In the end... still debating haha.

Well, IMO I wouldn't bother owning both a 350Z and a G35 Coupe. They are too similar to keep both. So I would look at it from the standpoint of whether you want to keep your 350Z or not. If you don't like your 350Z because it doesn't have a back seat and isn't luxurious enough, then dump it and get the G35 Coupe. If you love your 350Z and definitely want to keep it, then I wouldn't bother considering a G35 Coupe, because you practically have the same car already. Look for something else thats different for your second car.

I think i got a possible solution to my situation.
Acura TL --> G35 Coupe 350z --> Honda S2000 So bascially... If i go down this route, Im switching 1 Honda, 1 Nissan for another Honda, and another Nissan. Wow... wait til i get yelled at by my significant other for making this wise choice hahaha. |

I say do not go for a G35 coupe because it is the same thing as a nissan 350z, gow ith soemthing different unless you want a 350z with 4 seats (G35 coupe) and a new 2 seater (S2k, Lotus Elise)... I say try and get a hold of the lotus man, that is one sick car and IMO, i might have taken it over my M3 But it cant be a daily driver sooo i dunno!

Hmm...since money does not seem to be an issue, I'd say do this:
Acura TL---> 2006 Infiniti M45 350Z-------> C6 Corvette You would have a killer sedan that can run with (or maybe even past) a 350Z and you'll have the best sports car $45k can buy. Do it!

Hey I am the guy that went the S2K route.
First thing first-- If you want luxury then buy something other than the S. If a no frills sports car is in mind then you cannot go wrong with the S. While I loved my G dearly but the S suits me more. This car is a sensation to drive. I cannot describe how good it feels. I find myself going into corners much faster than with my G and I am more confident in the car. Its a very small car though and I dont know about trading the TL for it. You will lose all of the practicality LOL. You will not be dissapointed with the S if that comes out to be your decision in the end. I would say go test drive all of the cars mentioned below and then finally drive the S and I am sure if you like your Z so much you will have a new S2000 in your garage that night. ![]() Go for this scenario. Acura TL-----> BMW 330I (great car IMO), or G35 Sedan. 350Z-----> S2000. I dont know if you still need four seats and a big trunk though. If you dont then the G35 Sedan can be subbed for a Coupe G35 or a 330i coupe whichever you like. They are both great cars but I am a little biased toward the G.
