Fricken Punk
Please tell me the Coupe is faster than Accord Coupe.
A punk was harrassing me all the way home trying to race. If it were not for the old man I would have atleast gunned it until about 50 mph and then slowed up. This kid pulls up beside me after leaving the theater. If I switch lanes he guns it and gets into the other lane next to me. At the next light I speed up to get in front of him so I can make my right turn, he keeps going straight on a different road. Good he is gone? Now I'm at the next light and I can see him turning onto the road I am on, but he does not pull up beside me, he slows down about 4 car lengths behind me to anticipate the light changing and guns it. I start to, but the old man yells at me and tells me to stop acting like I'm 12 years old. Now the punk is driving like 30 mph in front of me so we do what I would say is the fifth crisscross in switching lanes and I start to go around him (not trying to race, he is driving slow). Well another light and I give the car a little gas like I usually do and my bf is yelling again and the punk is next to me and guns it. I slammed on my breaks, told my bf I always drive like that and let the punk go around, then he takes the next right off the road. I like to gun the car a little when coming off a light, but I always get right off it because I do not want a speeding ticket. MAN I really wanted to just gun it and kick this kids a$$. I don't know why he got on my nerves so much, but he harassed me all the way home from accross town!

comparing the two in 6MT form I'd say it's the G by the books and anybody's game on the streets. I've seen those accords do surprisingly well at the track ranging anywhere from 14.2x to 15.2x .
still in situations like these I just completely ignore them as I'm not foolish enough to fall into their ploys. I and my passengers are more important than a silly race on a public road. even if I were to win there's nothing to be gained out of the situation except maybe a mangled car, some broken bones, and friendly reminders from flashing red and blue lights. |

I agree with Civic. If you want something that'll blow most doors of in a straight line, get a new Mustang, mod it, and lighten it up. If you are getting harassed, write down the plate and phone 911, as it's bs behavior, and as he said, not worth a ticket, hell not even worth the gas. Now beating your friend for bragging rights on some back road away from view and traffic is another matter altogether
I had a similar situation occur on NYE of 1999 (yeah Y2k). I was on the highway and some young lady was getting on the freeway gunning her Eclipse (she was probably doing 80-90 on the service road alone) and she got real pissed when I didn't move over for her. To me it was her job to speed up or slow down merging on to the freeway, and I had a car next to me in the next lane, and I wasn't going to nail the brakes or drop into 4th gear to get out of her way since she was speeding like hell while trying to merge on to the freeway, besides I was exhausted from work, everyone at work was in panic mode over the y2k crap crashing all of our systems. She followed me across three different freeways as I was on my way home from work around midnight (had to do backups for the Y2k change) flashing her lights and trailing me 5 feet, at one point sped up, went around me, got in my lane ahead of me, and locked up her brakes. Then she slowed and got in the next lane to me and started to flip me off and scream her head off, all the while her boyfriend stared at me apologetically and I could make out "I'm sorry, she's crazy". After 10 miles of this (didn't have a cellphone at the time), I decided to take my glock out of my holster (I had and have a concealed carry permit), and not point it at her but raise it up, pointing it at my roof to send a message. While not wise, and I wouldn't do it again (my poor judgement and anger got the better of me), it did the job. She freaked, hit the brakes and took the first exit. I phoned my local PD when I got home (had her license plate memorized), told them what had happened, gave them my contact info, my license/concealed permit #, etc. All I got from the PD was a laugh and "I guess she got the message" and they told me they'd phone if anything became of it, I never heard from them. My windows were tinted dark so I don't know if she fully saw the pistol or what, but all I know is that I pulled it out and pointed it at the sky and she quit her bs. I'd just call the cops next time

Haha, I can so feel your frustration. I've been there and had passengers that would freak if I ever got on it and it's a real drag (no pun intended =). I'm sure you woulda smoked em

I was taught the same thing when I learned to shoot and again in the class to gain the permit. Like I said it was an error in judgement and I wouldn't do it again, but it did get the message across. A smart man once said you must first be young and stupid before you can be old and wise
