2007 M3...400hp V8??

Don't know if this is a repost...just too darn lazy to search so I apologize. Not sure if edmunds is reliable in forecasting new models, but they are talking about a 4.0L V8 version of the M3 pumping out 400HP for 2007...pretty crazy eh? Think Infiniti will drop their V8's into their G's to compete by that time?

Makes you think when the HP wars will end...sooner or later we will all be driving 1000+ HP cars!

...or maybe not, LOL.

With the way gas prices are going, some mfr's are going to lose their asses! At least in the states.

i'm not a history buff or anything (and i may be wrong)... but didn't older cars have a lot of horsepower with the small/big blocks. everyone at that time laughed at the little import cars until gas prices started rising and the imports caught on. seems like something like this may happen again with the way gas prices are going. one thing is for sure... history almost always seems to repeat itself. i'm hoping the hybrids and new technologies catch on before it gets out of control. i really like how honda is pumping out 255 horse on their new hybrids... very promising stuff.

Hmm...never thought about that, but it makes sense though. I always did like history Everything reaches a peak at some point, but it is interesting how gas prices are going up and so is HP numbers....maybe they are expecting a significant drop in gas prices by 2007?? Hmm....
