Question Your thoughts, M35?

Looking around for a 4 door. Your thoughts on the new M35?

One of my coworkers just got one. I went for a ride the other day. Very nice. You sit higher and the ride feels a bit stiffer IMO. The back seat is very roomy if you need to haul people. I was surprised to see that the 0-60 was 6.3 secs eventhough the extra weight.

IMO the car is a let down. after adjusting the front seats to my regular adjustment setting, i decided to give the backseat a try. no room watsoever. my knees barely cleared and my head hit the roof. if i shifted my body so my head would clear, my knees would hit the seat, and vice versa. i feel its a terrible let down for the size car it is. a skyline GT-R R33 has more back seat room than this car. inside materials were not much nicer than a G35, and we all know that a G's interior isn't the greatest out there.

I have yet to drive one or take a ride in one but i saw one on the lot at the dealership in Black and its very stunning inside and outside. I liked the interior especially, it looked very nice.

We should all keep in mind that the Q is considered the family, people-hauling sedan while the last generation M45 was considered a "driver's sedan", meaning it looked large but the back seat was really for show. If I remember correctly, the Nissan Altima has more room in the back than the previous generation M45. It sounds like the new M45/35 is staying true to being a "driver's sedan", which is actually rather odd because the demographic it is supposedly targeting is 40- to 60-year-old business men. At any rate, interesting feedback. I would have guessed they were going to give the rear passengers more room this time around.

Thats odd that you say that. There have been no reviews stating the car is small in the interior. Its more roomy inside there than a 5 series or lexus GS. As for the interior materials comment...i've been in an m35 and the interior materials are superior to our g35's. Very good fit and finish...praised in most reviews

Check out the M45 in Car and Driver. It came out on top out of 8 cars under $55,000 including the Lexus GS, Audi, Mercedes, and a few others.

oh i have to clarify...i'm 6'2". but even though, my frend just bought a 5 series and my other frend has a GS400, while my brother has an R33. far more room than the M35. i dont have to slouch to clear my head in the backseat. legroom is comparable between all models. actually, the R33 has more legroom too. and for the materials, like i said, they are better than the G, but ours is nothing to brag about. i'm not tryin to argue though, i'm just givin my 2cents of my obxervation of the car, hehe. Thanks to DesignStudio for clarifying that its a driver's sedan and not meant to be that roomy in the back, it all makes sense now =).

Eh, not sure if it's a clarification. I need to spend some time in the current generation M35/45 to see how faithful it is to the previous generation's role.

Might as well go for the whole enchilada and get the M45. I saw one on the road yesterday and I almost blew a stop sign rubber necking it. Beautiful car IMO.

PS - I could care less about the room in the back, since I would never ride back there.

I could see comparing two cars in the same price range but a $40-50K car can not be compared to a $90K+ car with a V10. Maybe compare it to the Lexus GS.
