2006 7 Series

What do you guys think of the new 7 Series? It's not a bad looking car, however for a base price of $100k CDN, I would much rather get an M45 and save myself about $30k!! (not that the two cars are in the same class)

IMO, the M45 is a much nice looking ride!

Just don't think I'll ever be old enough for something like that. For those kind of benjamins, I'd be in a Porsche 911 instead.

couldn't have said it better myself.

last weekend i was coming into blockbuster and saw a beautiful porsche 911 carrera 4s. my wife looked at it too while i whiped drool from my chin... then she said, "look it's got child seats in the rear." i just grinned, looked at her and said, "see... it is a family oriented car." now i can justify it over any future minivans

Two things BMW can't get over:

Being OVERrated and OVER priced.

My opinion of all makes and models with the flying propeller.

Great cars, really, really nice. They are not, however, the ZEN-MASTER-OF-DRIVING-MACHINES like they would have you believe. 10 years ago maybe, not today. The thing they're doing best lately is getting their asses kicked in the comparos. The chant continues at the dealerships nonetheless.

For the price of a optioned M3 I can almost buy a G Sedan AND a G Coupe. The BMW hasn't been made that is that good.

If someone GAVE me a 7, I'd immediately sell it and buy something else.

I dont think that BMWs are overpriced...not at all...compare an AMG model mercedes to a M BMW, big difference in price. Then you compare it to the Audi,(now, those cars are overpriced and CHEAP!) Audi is a bit cheaper, but no even close to be classified with MB and BMW, they still have a long way to go. BMW has been producing race inspired cars for years and they truly are the standard of luxury performance. Notice that I said, Luxury and performance. For around 53k, you can get a nicely equipped M3, new. For 80k, you can get a new M5/M6. That is very reasonable for the type of car you are buying. I went from a E46 BMW to my Gcoupe. I really like the coupe, but to me, there is no comparison, the BMW is by far higher in quality. But, I wanted more performance without spending alot, but still have a nice looking car, so I bought the G. First think I noticed when I got into my G, the doors and all of the interior is either plastic and the doors are hollow and not that solid. The engine is smooth, but no difference in feeling than a Nissan. The G's exterior styling, to me, is untouchable, just smooth and sexy. Compare it now to a 3series, you get in and everything is quality leather, thick doors, put together very tight, no vibrating plastic pieces(becuase they dont have any)...no car on the road drives like one, it sits very heavy to the ground, handles exceptionally and steering is perfect. Now you start looking into the stock suspension, very superior. The engine is a masterpiece. The inline engines are legendary and very smooth. There is a reason why millions buy BMWs and keep buying them, so that many people can't be wrong....anyways, I have no regrets buying the G, but everyone has their opinions, I'm just expressing what I see and know.

I like BMW. I almost got a Z4 instead of the G, but I like speed more than brand name lol.

Having said that, I agree BMW are not overpriced. They are great cars and the prize you pay is MUCH more reasonable than Mercs.
