Anyone owns a 2005 Pathfinder?

I was wondering if anyone here owns the latest redesigned 2005 Nissan Pathfinder....
I would like to hear your pros and cons...

TIA

I do not own an 05 Pathfinder, but took one out for a test drive not too long ago. I absolutely loved it. I think the redesign for the 05 models is very eye pleasing. I found the interior to be very accommodating with very good fit and finish. It had lots of power with it's 4.0L and 270HP, but you are paying for it when you stop at a gas station. I think Nissan rates gas mileage at 27mpg hwy and 18 mpg city. Of course, I don't believe those to be "real world" figures. Also, those numbers are based on imperial gallons not US gallons, so US figures will be lower than that.

The fuel economy is the only con that I can think of, and then again its's not like you are buying a Pathfinder and expecting 35mpg either. A great truck and I wouldn't hesistate at all purchasing one

I have driven them quite a few times. Wifey is on an SUV kick so we have driven about everything else out there also.

The pathfinder is a nice truck. It doesn't drive like a car like some of the other SUV's. For some, Like me, I like that it drives like a truck. For others it will be a turn off.

Two nagging things for me. When the air conditioner is on, it's gutless. I also don't like how the glove box is so low in the passenger side. I am tall and I hit my knees on it when I am in the passenger seat.

Why not buy a used Armada? Ton of room, rides great, but it really sucks down the gas! In our 4wd Armada, its not uncommon to get 13-16mpg. My uncle owns the Infiniti version and it gets much better mpg since he owns the 2wd version. It's a great SUV and you shouldn't have any trouble finding a slightly used one for $26-28K.

I'm house hunting and I think I'll need something bigger than a G coupe to haul $hit back and forth from Home Depot.... In any case, if and when I do get one, it goes to the wife. I hate SUVs The G stays for now.

The Armada is a plain tank! Right now, it's just me and my wife, we don't have any kids (not yet anyways), so an Armada would be an overkill.
BTW, what do you guys think of the new Hummer H3? I think it's pretty cool looking and not too big (probably the same size as the Pathfinder).

I agree, even with two kids, the Armada felt just too damn big. I've heard long-time Surburban owners even comment on what a tank it is after driving one!

We got my wife an '05 Pathfinder. It feels like a good vehicle, but the space is an issue at times. She had a Honda Odyssey, which is like a living-room on wheels, so anything was going to be a step down in terms of interior space, leg-room, etc. But the Pathfinder really is tight some times. And the 3rd row seat was a must for us for the occassional load of kids (neices/nehpews), but I took a ride back there and it sucks pretty bad. Definately ride back there before you have an adult passenger back there. Getting in wasn't the easiest, but the worst was the hard seat and the stiff ride. It was like sitting at the back of the old school buses. Dips and bumps taken at what a front-seat passenger would consider normal is enough to jar the spine of the 3rd-row passengers. Just something to consider. Ours is definately emergency seating now.

My biggest gripe is about the seats. I know us Americans are bigger than the Japanese designers, but the narrow width of the front seats (cloth) is really ridiculous. The 'thigh bolsters' encroach too far toward the middle of the seat (unless your butt is only 8 inches wide) and are too firm to be comfortable on long trips. I'm 6'1" and 200lbs, so it's not as if I'm immense. And it's not the seat completely, just the overly-stiff thigh bolsters that end up running under the middle of the back of my thighs. Take a long test drive OR make sure you get leather. I've always been more partial to leather because the seat pads always feel softer.
