Wrx???!!!???

Hey guys...
Im not into subaru's at all. Today on the Florida Turnpike I got into it with a lightly modded WRX. It didnt say STi on the back but it was turbo with a very loud blow off valve, some kind of exhaust and im guessing some intake. We ran from anywhere from 60-80 up to 110-115 I pulled on him every single time.. I am a bone stock 04 6MT he was a stick as well. I thought these guys were suppose to be faster than us? I didnt pull hard at all But i kept my lead every time. Whats the deal? Is an STi THAT much quicker?

I would definitely give the edge to a slightly modded WRX. However, I think the WRX lacks in styling appeal.

the WRX run similiar 0-60 times as us. 5.9 i belive. the STI however is a beast, those will run mid 4's. Simple mods that would only cost them a few hundered would for sure kick our a$$. there very cheap too, brand new exhaust can cost around 400, not even used ones for our car go for that much, LOL!

AWD advantage is negated from a roll, gents. The WRX may get an awesome 0 to 60 and 1/4 mile run due to the AWD, but from a roll it has to contend with vehicle weight and drivetrain loss from two differentials. I've ran modded and stock WRX from a roll with very postive results. The STi may fare better due to more stock horsepower.

Yes Sti's are that much quicker! My friends own Sti's and I own an Evolution and with very few mods both cars can be brought into the 12 second quater mile range. If you see them on the highway unless you have major work done don't bother or you'll get your a$$ handed to you.

If it is a lightly modded WRX it wouldnt have a turbo. that is not a light mod.
My friend has a WRX that he put a turbo in and a few other mods and the thing is fast as crap. But it doesnt look anywhere as nice as the G. All the girls where I live are all over my car but his they are all saying its just his black car.

The wrexx's high end power isn't too great. Their fwy speeds aren't the greatest. An is300 would be able to hang with a wrx on the fwy. I know this because i used to have an IS300 and shocked many a wrx when i stayed with em.

Uh, WRX's come from the factory with a turbo...

Many times people compare 0-60 times in mags and wonder why they won or lost but don't consider a couple of things:

1. the best times quoted are often from a hard clutch drop
2. the different in times are small enough that driver skill plays a major role

I loss to a slightly modded wrx last weekend. All he had was an intake, exhaust and utec. We went from a 10 mph roll and I had a pretty big lead all the way up until 120 when he just walked by me

If it was a wrx, you should've pulled him everytime. My buddy has a WRX with bolt-ons, ecu, etc and it's slow as heck.
STi's on the other hand, Ive driven those and down low they pull pretty hard. Fun cars to drive.

http://www.rice.sightless.net/aG35/v...g35_vs_wrx.avi please save target as.. its a very short vid taken by a photo camera (explaining the quality) but the G is the one with the blue strip fallowed by thw WRX.

the race began at 15mph.. where the camera was.. that should be around 80mph
