Should i buy a hyundai for GF ?

Hiya guys,

yeah yeah i know this should be posted elsewhere but i figured since i post on the coupe forum alot id value your input more

here's the story.

gfriend of 8 months (not living together but will be in a month or two) she has a 1990 jeep cherokee v8 and its SPENT (broke) she's getting 6-7 MPG (costs more for gas then a new car) . she cant buy another car due to bankruptcy in progress. This jeep is a headache constantly broke and she now has a 300+ bill for a replacement fuel pump.

Im leaning towards NO however I can always use a daily driver if things fall through. PBA purchase of this car (plus other expenses) will max out my salary.

Thanks for your time, lemme know whatcha think !

I agree with the Honda cars... however I dont want to spend 2k+ or more.
hundai has a great 5 yr warranty so figured id stick with that.

(in my book) hyundai = gets the job done

If you think she's a keeper, then that is one hell of a committment. I'd buy her a used car...something around $5k. She shouldn't complain about that since you are buying her a car.

Well, it's up to you, but a hyundai is a cheap car. You get a long warranty and you can get a hyundai accent under 10g brand new. Honestly, don't expect to keep the hyundai much longer then the warranty, but im sure thats not a problem.

EVEN a better reason not to get a peice of crap car like that. Do you really wanna drive that? i know i wouldnt.

I liked the suggestion of a nice used reliable fun car.

I'd say no. Not unless you're engaged or something serious like that. Doesn't she have parents or siblings that can help out? You can always let her use your G!

NEVER enter into to any large financial tie with a person whom you are not legally related to. Never, ever, ever.

Come on, haven't you ever seen an episode of Judge Judy?

Well how would you guys feel if your girlfriend was buying you a car and you had no money. I bet you would be on the other side of the fence then. But if you do get her a car, dont get a hunday. Get something like a civic or a jetta

My claims adjuster buddy said that Hyundai's are worthless pieces of junk, even the nice looking Tiburon. He said whenever a claim comes in for a Hyundai, they rather not give any money for it cuz it's just not worth it.

Why don't u look into the Scion TC? Base model $16k. Just stick to Japanese. Fuel efficient is always a good thing. Get a Civic then
