Anyone move from/to a FX?

After having my G35 for less than a year I am realizing how much more space I need to haul stuff. So I was considering trading in on a FX. I figure I will take a beating in the trade (05MT6 Coupe) but deals on FX are easier to come by than Gs were.

Any idea when the FX will get an update? Should I wait a year or so? Actually how well is an FX for hauling stuff?

If you're lookin' for space to haul, the FX is not the best answer.

Have you looked in the back??

i borrowed my dad's fx45 when my car's were stolen for a few weeks back in november... and the trunk isn't that bad, especially with the seats down. some things i noticed with it... it guzzles gas, the tires needed to be swapped for winter snow driving, the back seat doors are funky... sometimes hard to get in and out of. also i could never figure out how to properly raise the backseats after they were down. it seems that u can leave them at different angles when raising them up. everytime i put the seat up it came to a 90 degree halt. i had to go back into the trunk.. crawl in... hold the release lever and tilt the seat back to a respectable postition. very annoying. one thing i did love was the steering response. it was very linear and far superior (imho) to my g35c. i find it sad when an suv has better steering response than a sports coupe. at least they've finally corrected it on the '06 model, no help to me though . not sure what model your looking at but if it's the 45 u can pm me and i'll try to answer anything i can.

Not looking to haul big things, the coupe just has no real space and the pass through is a joke. Really looking to move small home improvement items, plants, pine bark, and small crap like that.

Leaning towards a FX35 with Premium package and maybe the sports package. Not a fan of navi systems. Don't have a need for AWD in Georgia.

why not just buy a used pick-up truck ? no offense ... but trading in a new coupe for a luxury suv in order to haul the items listed doesn't make any sense to me financially nor utility wise.

Me (Coupe) and my wife (Sedan) are talking about switching the sedan with the FX. We did test drive it and it was very nice. Only problem is that it's kinda hard to see the back. Other than that, very good.

BTW, 06 FX will have a minor interior and exterior changes such as new bumper, grill tail lights, chrome accents dash area etc.

I drove a 2004 FX35 for a year. My wife wanted a new car and liked my FX so much, she took it and I bought a loaded 2004 G35 6MT Coupe (sometimes things just work out). It was fun to drive and you can surprisingly fit alot in the car. The comment on gas mileage was accurate. If I was heavy on the gas, I would only get about 16mpg. It's the same basic platform as the G35 so how could it be bad?

if you trade in you'd loose a few grands. Get an early 90's pickup for a few grands. Declare that vehicle your primary transportation and save on insurance (and, in the winter, possibly gas too)
