I'm going to make my decision this week. Although I was set to get the NSX I came a cross a 97 Viper GTS with 21k on it. Asking price, $42,000.00. The NSX is a 95, Targa Top, 31k on it. Asking $40,500.00. I've been on the fence with this the last few weeks, but I need to make my decision this week. I've always Loved the Viper since it first came out, definarely can't beat the hp and looks. Obviously, gas milage sucks. The same goes true for the NSX, I've always liked that car. Good looks, refined, better gas milage
. Which would you take? reasons?Bat™

nsx... definitely. a lot more fun to drive. not as much straight line fun, but, the ride quality is great, with absolutely amazing cornering ability, and looks astonishing.
the advantage of the viper, imo, is at first glance, looks fast as hell just sitting still, and amazing hp. but... i didn't like the ride, the comfort of the seats, etc... i too was comparing those. but... if you want this internal arguement with yourself to end, go test drive a c6. it is the best sports car i've ever driven. the ride quality, hp, cornering, comfort, everything. the only car i had this much fun in (within my price range) was the lotus elise. but... you can get a new c6 for just under $50k (including warranty).

NSX all the way. If you are into well rounded performance.
been a viper, it turns like a minivan. |

I like both but the viper seems like a better deal. Have driven both and the viper is definatly alot more fun.

I agree with points from both sides. I've driven both cars and both have their pluses. One thing for me is that if I get the NSX, I'm jumping from a 287hp Z to a 270hp NSX. Granted the NSX is much lighter and quicker than the Z. I guess you really cant make a comparison there since the NSX is an exotic and much more refined. Damn thing sits much lower stock than my Z. The Viper on the otherhand is truly a performance driven car. You dont have all the bells and whistle that you do have on the NSX. That's what's making my decision so hard. What it boils down to is what will I want has far as a driving machine in the long run. Daily driver, either one will be my daily for a while. I'll be getting a new 06 Honda Civic down the line.
I will be getting rid of my Z. I will not be parting it, but selling it as is. I'll miss it. ![]() Here's what I've owned in the past: Toyota Tercel Mitsubishi Mirage 190 Celica 1999 VW Beetle 2000 Celica 2004 350Z (current ride) The Viper is getting a ppi done today, so I'll know for sure by later this afternoon if everything checks out. The 2 NSX's I've looked at had ppi's done already. The 91 checked out extremely well for it's age. Alittle better than the 95 Targa I looked at. Thing is I really like the Targa which came out in 95. Milage wise on the 91, it has 51k, $30,000 price vs the 95 31k for $40,500.00. I Love the black roof on the older models as well. Bat™

if it's gonna be your daily driver... i would look at the reliability characteristics of both cars... and i think you'll know who the winner is in that department. great looking z btw bat!

If you already have a daily driver, I say Viper all the way. But if you don't, then get the NSX. The NSX is more capable of being an everyday car in my opinion. But, the Viper is pure muscle! I love the sound of that V10!!

NSX is more refined and balanced but the Viper has a freakin V10. I believe the Viper corners well but that is probably because the backend is all tires. I would say the NSX is a better car but would go with the Viper. It's more exciting to own and makes the best music.
