Pre-Order for GT-R

Dunno how true this is since i heard it from the dealer....But as I was in for my 15K service i was chatting with one of the other members of the board who works there and a service advisor. The service advisor has stated that there are already 2 pre-orders for the GT-R at 80K

Anyways...i just thought i would share...I don't believe that to be true but who knows...

I have asked my dealer in chicago to start a new list for the GTR, he didnt have any as of now..

and he is a big dealer..with merc, bmw, maybach, cady, porsche etc...so he should get quite afew if the number is limited..

btw does anyone know if the GTR will be avaialble everywhere? or is it going to be selling with quota(like the vettes)so bigger the dealer, more GTRs he will get?

Dealer always BS. That is very too early for pre-order since GTR is coming out 2007.

Where and when did Nissan made the announcement that the GT-R is going into production? All I see in the gtrproto.com is that there is a "2007". Nothing else.

The video actually says "On the Road" and then "2007". Seems fairly obvious what they were saying. Check all the big auto sites, they are all saying a late 2007 release as a 2008 model.

That still doesn't mean a thing. One other member just bought up a good point on the other thread, what does the interior look like? Anyone of you ever seen a picture of the interior yet?

If you don't want to believe it'll be arriving in 2007, then don't believe it. There are no pics of the interior as Nissan has said there will be no more info until closer to release.

you are joking right?

people has ordered C6 and C6Z06 much before even the prototype had arrived..I know people who were on the list for 5 years and some of the big dealers how sell 1500 corvettes a year have had a list of 150 people or longer for a very long time before the car was shown, any spec were known and the pricetag..so you surely can pre order, because preorder only means that you are on a waiting list, as soon as something is known, they will officially have a line for people to buy..this happens for anticipated cars like the Z06, C6, GTR, F430, M56, M6 etc..try getting an M5 in todays date and see when you would be able to buy one, not before end of 06 untill someone cancels..

that means that the line up to BUY the car has been placed

and I'm pretty sure pre-ordering means dishing out cash before it's released
and wikipedia agrees
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pre-order

oh, and the M5 comment.. depends how good of a customer u are to ur BMW dealership...

I dunno. I think that kinda price might be in line. After all, a new NSX would set you back that much.
