Would look marginally better without that black tooth at the front...  C.

Pretty nice, but I wonder how much it costs? I know it's not gonna be cheap, and for that kinda money...I'd probably be looking at something else.

The 3.6L 280hp Passat is already $30k. This 575hp version (if it's actually going to be made) is easily GT-R price territory. And it's fugly. Who wants a 575hp Passat? Would make more sense to get a RS6. Looks like another Phaeton experiment to me.

I'm not sure what the title of this thread is supposed to accomplish other than serving as flame bait, but whatever.
Objectively I am still not impressed. 280hp isn't groundbreaking, VW reliabilty, quationable styling, likely costs more than the G35... The only real advantage I see it having is interior refinement. I'll probably drive one when they become available - I've always enjoyed VW's handling, but I really don't think it will stack up well against a G35 in the "sport" department.

If VW had better quality then maybe I would be into it. But I would fear for the car to explode with that much horsepower. And its ugly.

Ugly is a bit harsh- goofy is more like it. And I can see it now- "Hey, check out my $55,000 PASSAT!!" And then you start explaining why you spent that kind of coin on a German rental car...
As a previous owner of an '03 Passat, I've had that conversation...
