Not quite sold on the looks of the new IS350
Has anyone seen it in person? It seems sort of bland looking in the commercials. The one area that seems off is the rear fender covers too much of the back wheel and makes it almost look like the front wheels are larger than the back. It seems like some recent redesigns look worse than the original, hopefully something that doesn't happen to the new G35.
Audi-liked the last gen much better-too many strange lines along the front end and taillights. BMW 3 series-overall better, but the rear not quite up to par. IS-Better than the very small last gen, but kinda average, though I have yet to see in person.

My main problem wasnt how it looked, i think its kinda nice, like a mini gs.
Problem is that the rear seats can only be used by legless midgets. Thats a direct quote from my wife. |

It looks nice in person but I can not even fit in the front seat, so don't get me started with the back. I am 6.6 and the sales manager at Orlando Lexus was shocked to see this. I fit perfect my 2005 the G35. To say the least, I was very disappointed.

Like I said before in other threads....it looks like a larger and better version of the Acura TSX. The wheels are too weak looking for the car too. It'd be a shame to spend all that money just be confused with a TSX.

hyundai jacked the rear tail light design, or vice versa, so the is350's back doesn't look distinctive or "luxourious" anymore... at least to me

Personally,
I think the new Lexus IS is absolutely beautiful. I agree with the comments you guys made. It does look a little bit like the Scion TC, lol. It's also a bit cramped...and I am kind of a big guy as well..6 foot 220, so I don't think that's the car for me. But it's definitely the type of car I'd be buying for my wifey, that is if I had a wifey and the money to buy one for her. It's a Lexus so it's definitely built very well, and it's also very smooth, all in all I think it's a girl's car IMHO. I personally also love the new BMW 3 series. A lot of people are thrown off by the rear lights, but I've seen aftermarket rear lights for that car that make it look a LOT nicer. |

It looks nice, but still too small, still a toy car, size wise.

I think it looks great in pics and in person. I do agree that the wheels look a little small but the same thing could be said about the G35s. Overall, it looks much better than the BMW 3 series but not quite as good as the G35. It is a smaller car, though, and it shows on the inside. Two big guys in the front would probably rub shoulders and any adults would be cramped in the back. If I only had two kids, I would love to get one for the wife.

I like the new IS's look. I think it is on par with the new 3-series styling-wise.

I love the new IS, but its no fun to drive. the steering is as overboosted as my Yaris, feels more like steering a wheel in the middle of the air then steering a wheel that is connected to the front wheels. the car is not roomy at all, but not that i care, i think i find it ok, but then i'm not a big guy.
my biggest problem is the price... a 330I fully loaded is cheaper then the IS350 full load. I'd definatly go for the German if i'm looking for some class as well as a all around fun sports sedan. Lexus just doesnt feel like its worth the price, even the quality is really great and styling is awesome, the car is just still a Toyota, there is just something missing. |

I got to drive it at the Taste of Lexus along with all the other cars. While the course they had set up was way to short and cramped, it was definitely a step up from my '04 IS. I loved they way my old IS drove and stuck to the road but it needed a shot of steroids to the engine. They fixed that and then some. I took it for a test drive at the dealership too. Pretty damn quick, it's just so quiet you dont know how fast you're really going. I was going to trade my '05 G for one but I think I will wait for the coupe if they decide to come out with it. If not, well I'll just wait till the second year model. Oh btw, drove all the bimmers there as well and all I can say is what I've always said about them. If there is no "M" on the back of it, It will not impress me a whole lot.....
