Cool Factory Five - I may do it!

I have been following the development of the GTM for a while now and they are about ready to start shipping kits out the first part of next year.

After I get moved into the new house and get my garage set up.....I might take one on for a project.

I helped a buddy build a Factory Five AC Cobra a few years ago and it was a nice kit.

Check this out....

2,200 lbs!?! that thing is going to fly. One of the guys I work with has been telling me about that car for a year now. Looks like a hell of a car and a lot of fun to build. If you go for it, we'll expect to see a full write up of your build.

A neighbour of mine had one since he is a distributor for them in this area. It was a beautiful build and he had a 5.0 litre engine. It had lots of go with that powerplant.
MSM, you've seen the pics.

Looks great.
Don't imagine it's a greenhorn project though.
If I had the Cobra kit experience like you do...
I'd love to tackle something like that

Man that's hot. It's light, powerful, and sounds pretty cheap. Building one of those cars sounds like a lot of fun. If you do this, please keep us posted.

There's a long post on corner-carvers.com where a guy is documenting his build up of a GTM. It's very cool . . . If I had 40-50K for such a project I'd be all over it.

If you go over there to check it out, make sure you read and follow their forum rules very carefully, they'll ban you for the slightest infraction.

I've been considering a Factory 5 Cobra for a while now, but I can't seem to figure out if I would want to get a Superformance Cobra or a factory 5. Seems the Factory 5 requires a lot more building, so there could be issues with quality there, but the superformance is a lot more money up front (though they will probably both turn out to be about the same amount in the end).
