OH NO 2008 lexus is350 coupe confirm
check it out
http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=108126 Detroit Show: Lexus to Show IS Cabrio/Coupe Concept in Motown Date Posted 11-22-2005 TOKYO — Lexus is ready to spring the next development in the compact IS story, according to sources in Japan. North America has already welcomed the impressive new 2006 IS 250 and IS 350 sport sedans. But at January's Detroit show, Lexus will unveil a concept teaser pointing to a sleek and different new IS coupe/cabrio, sources say. A successor to the U.S.-designed LF-C concept displayed at the 2004 New York Auto Show, the Detroit 2006 IS concept is much closer to production, it's said, and points to what will be appearing in U.S. showrooms in August 2007. Complete with power-operated top, the Detroit car reportedly packs a 5.0-liter V8 with 450-hp output. This will be a bored-out version of the 4.6-liter V8 from the new Lexus LS 460 premier sedan, which will have its official production launch at Detroit. Lexus is also tipped to be readying an IS 500 sedan to target the likes of the Mercedes C55 AMG and BMW M3. What this means to you: A cool new Lexus IS coupe/cabrio sounds perfect for the United States, and a lusty 5.0-liter V8 sweetens the pot still further.

Damn, BMW is replacing their 330 with the 335 (3.5 i6)....Lexus is putting a v8 in the IS. Wow, these car companies are getting real competitive in the performance department.
Edit; I meant I6...not v6. Last edited by MikeyMike; 11-27-2005 at 06:58 AM. |

not sure why it's a 'oh no.' by that time we'll be done with our
current G's and will be looking at either another G or other candidates. more choices is a good thing for us.

Price jump
Lexus V-8 with probably a huge price jump. Saw the Lexus GS 430 in the show room going for nearly 70K here. I'm sure this would be out of my price range anyway. Plus I don't think it will come with a manual transmission.

bring it on, I think the new IS is a good looking car, and with 450 HP it would be one of my top choices.

Yeah, why would this be an "Oh No"? Frankly I see nothing exciting about this news other then us having some choices. Just reading the specs, it looks like it will cost near a skyline so, once again wrong class of cars to compare with the G

Whao.... If this is the case, that would mean there could be a possibility that a Supra will show up in the future Toyota line-up.... Man the Lexus will be so expensive. So this Detroit International Auto show will be shoot off for the new 2007 G35 and the IS coupe. Can't wait must see.

Ever since the IS300 came out, I always thought to myself... "If that car was a Coupe, RWD, 6-spd manual and had at least 280HP w/ bolt on turbo capabilities... I'd get one!"
But now I guess that's about to happen but I still like my G... A LOT. |
