G35/Wrx Sti

I stopped by the Subaru dealer today and looked at the new sti. I might trade in my 05 G35 6mt for an Sti. Thinking about it at least. I drive pretty fast and dont need the luxury so I think it would suit me better. Anyone driven Sti's? What do you think?

if you're considering the wrx over G35, i'd also consider and....purchase a Lancer evo instead

but thats just me....

If your more concerned about performance then go for the new 06 STI. the new redesigned front bumper looks awesome and has a tad bit more luxury then the evo.

if you want more speed go for the sti.

my $.02

I just traded in my STi for the G35...I miss it... a lot

Be ready for revving and stop light challenges EVERYWHERE...lol
Thats the only thing I dont miss, but I loved the car. The G is much more refined and luxurious....but if you want raw performance...go STi.

I was actually contemplating this last year. I really like the STI, very fast, not too much turbo lag, just seemed like a real fun car.

But the dealership was being really shady on the trade in amount for my car, and the amount they wanted to sell the Sti..so I just walked.

MikeyMike - Irvine Subaru is selling the '06 STI for under MSRP around $500 over invoice. Dealerships never give you anything on a trade. You will get more selling to a private party. The new STI and Evo 9 are very nice and fast cars. The G is also very nice, but different.

Id go for the STi. I had a G coupe pre-Katrina and since that got flooded past the roof, I went with the STi...They are like Night and Day...The STi is soo much more fun to drive and way faster, also the STi is more upgradeable...I just ordered an accessport (plug and play engine management) and a downpipe, for the total of 900 dollars I will have 50 more Hp and 85 more Ft/lbs of torque...Thats just stage 2, they are way more upgradeable than that.

just to add my 2 cents, the sti's are faster 0-60 and 1/4 mile by a little if the driver in the g is half way decent, but on the high way a stock g35 owns the stock subarus from 70mph all day.
