G35 Coupe to Acura NSX.....???
Ok, so for those that know me - they know im ALWAYS looking at new cars. I always 'think' i want something new and talk about it for a week or so then it fades away.
Well, this might be the real thing. I have a great offer on the table for a 1997 Acura NSX-T, 6 speed, very low miles, and i just might take it!!! My question is, has anyone had any experience with the NSX (good or bad) and what was it? I know the NSX isnt a whole lot faster than my G, but its rear-engine, its light-weight, and DAAYUM it looks real good!!! Let me know your thoughts. Thanks, Pearlcoupeg35 aka RedcoupeNSX

I've driven several, and even though it isn't the fastest in straight-line acceleration... the feeling of that car is incredible. It truly fits like a glove, with a great road feel. It's expensive to mod and make faster, so don't think much about that route. But if you want great handling and a car that just feels like an extension of you... it's hard to beat.

Well of course it is old at first think, but if you really like to compare track times, the NSX will most likely knock your coupe pretty bad off the list. It is very very fast at tracks, probably less so than the GTR but still very good if driven well.
It is pretty rare too, since not much people can/want to pay the price tag for it (Honda). At the end, it really depends on if you like luxury GT coupe more or a sports car. And for extras, autoweek tested a comptech NSX not long ago, and they really liked it. Hope this helps, cheers... |

If I could get a deal on one in excellent condition I'd buy it. It's so damned hard to find a white one though.

sup man? power wise the G and the NSX doesn't have a big difference when it comes to numbers and feel of accelaration. I owned a 91 NSX and put a good amount of mileage on it before i sold it. Realibility is just as good as any hondas. there are few glitches on the earlier models such as some models had a tranny failure due to a weak product that Acura used on some of its model. but that could be fix easily and identified by looking at the bin number. Acura was honest enough to released the Bins for all the vehicles that was affected.
I had a chance to autocross my NSX with fellow NSX'rs couple years ago and the car was push very hard on street configuration even tires. The car handled like a dream on those hairpin turns. I spun halfway due to late breaking on the last turn. mine didn't have the power steering which i like more cuz i felt the road more when turning. A lot of the haters out there would call it a ferrari wanna be. don't let the name HONDA fool you. This is a car that you can admire with its undying and original style for a very long time. I've seen NSX with as high of 500,000 miles on it and still running good. This car is in canada. There's a guy in San francisco with 300,000+ miles on it. I had to sell mine cuz it wasn't practical for me at the time anymore. I was 22 and leaving the military. didn't want to bother with the payment and i would have no garage to keep it warm. goodluck!!!! NSX will not disappoint you. a $3000 supercharger will give you more power that will make you forget the G. |

Some older cars really steal your attention like that. I am not particularly into the Supra/NSX scene, but I love the last generation MR2 Turbo. Those mid engine cars are so damn good looking and they handle very very well on the track as well.
