I dont understand!!why?

Why do so many g35 drivers want the new IS350? I mean the interior is very nice..and its fast..but the driving experience is awful. Its no fun! I test drove one recently and you could barely hear the exhaust note!!

Is it really slower than the G? I think it's a bit faster, with the exception of the electronic assistant nanny's holding it back. I'd like to race one though...

I think that the majority of G owners whom purchased their G's are quite satisfied. Those whom leased their G's maybe looking to try something different.

maybe its cause they want the security and confidence of owning the fastest viechle in its class? i would never trade my G in for the new IS, the new IS just doesn't get that sexy-factor.

I say, let 'em have the new Lexsux...

They don't deserve the G35!

I love my car and everything about it!

And it's sexy as hell!

IS350 is faster than the G35 sedan or the G35 Coupe. I've testdriven both back to back and the IS350 engine beats the G35 motor hands down. It's faster, more torque, revs smoother......

The interior of the IS350 is also nicer than the G35, even the 05+.

Unfortunately the IS350 is built like a 4 door coupe. The backseats are so small I wonder why they even bothered. G35C feels bigger inside in every dimension with the exception of rear seat headroom.

As far as handling - The IS350 handles plenty well IMO, not as sharp as the G35, but it's not too shabby at all. Nothing some suspension mods won't fix anyhow. Add a coil over, sway bars and the IS350 will handle just as good as a G35 coupe.

I wonder if lowering the Lexus will be as ridiculous a task as the G?!

most people buy the G for its speed and mix of luxury.
few people here are really after the handling, braking, etc. some are also in it for the style though (and there are fewer IS's out there than Gs..).

so when the new IS comes, everyone who has the G for its speed and luxury and relative exclusivity all have reason to change since the IS was reviewed to be quicker and is more refined and is new.
those who are in it more for the handling, braking, overall performance probably arent the ones making the switch- in this regard the IS still lags behind the G (but to be fair to it, thats not what it was built for)

This "old fart" will be 61 in January. I just got my '06 MT Coupe in November. Didn't even consider the Lexus.
BTW, These are great cars but unfortunately I'll never fully get used to or fall in love with the sound of those 6 little cylinders! .......... keeping in mind again I guess that my ADVANCED AGE is doing the talking! HaHaHa.
BTW, back in the day those"outdated" old dino type V8's us kids of the 60's and 70's had would blow the doors off of these litle darlin's..... and that was B EFORE we modded 'em! Just ask your Gandfathers. LOL

They don't do ANYTHING for me. I still say a 911S would be the only car I would trade the G for, but I can't justify (or at least my wife won't let me justify) spending that much money on a car YET
