1998+ Lexus GS400
I was driving home with my buddies yesterday around 3:00 after a newyears party (I was designated driver
)...when I see a Lexus GS400 next to us. Him and his buddy were the typical wannabe gangsters thumping their heads and had their gangster lean on while hollering at everyone on the streets...when the green light hits he floors his car and that thing seemed pretty quick...he did it 3 different times but I didn't race once...wouldn't want anything to happen since I think most of the people still out are buzzed...my question is could a stock G35 coupe 5AT take a Lexus GS400? Man I wanted to race him bad...maybe the old me would've done it but I guess every year you get a little bit wiser...

It's got a V8, but those things are heavy. I doubt a G35 would lose to an LS

They have the 0-60 for a GS400 listed as ~5.8 seconds

My Bro has a 99 GS400 and on the freeway starting at 60 mph it is dead even... At about 110 he starts to pull away pretty good... Haven't run him from a dead stop, but honstly from the butt dyno I think he'll take me...

VQ35 reallys lacks after 110-120mph
GS400 is basically like 540 auto, pulls on us all the way till 145mph under 100mph, pretty even |

I test drove a few used GS400/430's before buying the G35. I think the GS would win in a straight line, but wouldn't have a chance on a track. I also like the way the GS430 looked, but it didn't feel sporty, just fast and heavy.
The GS400/430 is much quieter, smoother, more luxurious. The G35 is just more fun. The GS V8 feels stronger than the G35, it surprises me how close they are in the magazines.
