New Lexus ES and LS coming out soon

The new ES is coming out in March according to Lexus reports. I have a pic of the new LS due to come out in August (not sure about this) maybe earlier or later. Looks like a bigger GS a big improvement from the current model it will be badge as LS460. Bigger engine more power and torque to compete with current M45 Infiniti's. No pics of the ES yet or word on how big the engine will be maybe an ES350? Remains to be seen.

You can see pics of the upcoming LS460 at the link below. It has an amazing interior! The exterior on the other hand just does not do anything for me. I guess I just don't find it very eye catching.

Btw, the LS460 is slated to have 380HP with 370 lb-ft torque, and an 8 speed automatic transmission.

No surprise, the Lexus looks to be an exact copy of a Mercedes Benz.
This time the CLS

I'm sure the new ES will have Toyota's 3.5 V6 tuned probably higher than the 268 hp in the Avalon.
My guess will be 280 hp.

Anyone got pics of the ES?

If they made that in rear wheel drive, wow, that car would be a real nice luxo cruiser.

The current ES is so hideous looking that anything will be an improvement.

Take the pics of the new Camry, slap some decent grills and Lexus badges on it and tada! Next ES330. Available with hybrid as well, just like the Camry. Sweet. I look forward to seeing packs of these new cars out side of Macy's next Christmas.

Yikes, Shane, now that's interesting.... Love the trend to more auto gears.

8 Speed Auto!!!!!! fantastic. That baby will have a deep first gear to compete with a manual, and a high top gear for cruizing.
Awesome.

Now Infiniti will respond ......

C.

seems like the trend is everyone is chopping trunk lid space to make room for passenger/cabin space... sedans beginning to look like station wagons now...

Why?

Just make it a CVT at this point.
Having a car whose tranny shifts every 10 mph isn't what I'd
call a fantastic thing.
I think 6 speed autos are perfect.
Aggressive 1st gear, moderately aggressive 2nd gear, super tall (overdrive) 6th gear and 3 evenly spaced gears in the middle.

I wouldn't want a tranny the downshifts with every 1/2 move of the gas pedal and then upshifts every second you let up just a bit on the gas.

I thought I had read somewhere that the next ES was going to be it's own car, not on a Camry anymore.

LS460 is no M45 competitor, it's one class higher than the M & will be more expensive & luxurious.
Also, it looks nothing like any Benz & specifically the CLS. It does have a similar side profile as the 7 series, but other than that, looks completely different from other angles.
A hybrid LS600h will be introduced a year later, & I think it will be unveiled in New York (?)
