2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8

No good on a track but this thing will haul ***.

Power is pegged at 420 hp at 6200 rpm and torque is an equally impressive 425 lb-ft at 4800 rpm, though you don't need much more than tickover in any gear to turn the approaching horizon into a streaky blur. Behold the 0-60 mph time of less than five seconds, the 0-100-0 time of less that 19 seconds, and a top speed around 155 mph. The Grand Cherokee SRT8 is fast, people; faster than the Cayenne Turbo and X5 4.0iS that used to look down their premium noses at the Jeep. In fact, it's almost as quick to 60 mph as a Porsche 911. You may gasp when ready.

I know you may mean that jokingly but in actuallity the jeep is kinda cramped for a 4 door. My dad just got the grand cherokee limited (he wants the SRT 8 now) and it feels so small inside. My coupe seems bigger interior wise, is less cramped, and seems to have more rear seat room than the jeep. but hey you just cant beat an SUV with a less than 5 sec 0-60 time...

I recently test drove one of these back-to-back with a TrailBlazer SS. Full review here: http://www.epinions.com/content_217486954116

What impressed me most about the Jeep was not the power, which I full expected, but the absolute composure of the suspension. Bumps and divots were quickly absorbed. No quivers or lingering impact. But also no harshness. Oddly, BMW is the master of ride-handling balance in its sedans, but the X3 and X5 could learn a lot from this Jeep.

In other ways as well the Jeep seemed a much more refined and complete package than the Chevy, or just about any other SUV I've driven. Only overly light steering was a bit of a letdown. The rear seat is small, but I appreciate the relatively compact feel of the Jeep.

people, get it right, the jeep cherokee (XJ) is not at all, in anyway the same as a grand cherokee (ZJ, WJ, WK). it would be like calling your g35 a m45. Grand is not just a more exclusive line of cherokee, it is a different jeep.
