1) Its okay, but its still a chevy, and therefore I wouldnt buy it.
2) I like the retro thing, but it seems like its kind of a rip off of the success dodge has had with their throwback designs.
3) I cant think of a subject more suited for the "other cars" forum.

The Challenger looks more like the original than any of the other retro's... The body & lines are almost identical, right down to the grill, rear cowl & bumper and exhaust.
The GT-R better be nice or I may have to buy that HEMI Challenger when my lease is up.

Dodge or Chev..........?

If I'm in the market for a new car in '08 deciding on
one or the other would be tough. They both look
great but fit and finish might be the final deciding
factor. Current GTO f/f sucks so they'll have to
do a better job to get my $. By '08 the GTO might
be back in better clothing so we'll have three to
choose from......WFK!

What is that supposed to mean? If you took the exact same car and called it a Lexus, you would be OK with it then?

It's a shame you're so biased and closed minded - you're going to miss out on a lot of fun, enjoyable cars in your life because of that.

Don't like it. I can't stand the new boxy (300c) or retro (mustang) designs. It's like they just gave up on being innovative.

Nice retro looking car, very stylish. However it is still a sh*tkicker GM. I should know, my last car was a Caddy CTS, a sh*tkicker.

the point is Lexus wouldnt make the exact same car- they would put a nicer interior in it, give it better styling, and it wouldnt have dime a dozen looks.

we've discussed this issue before with regards to the vette- where I said the performance was amazing, but the interior and chevy dealerships sucked. lets just agree to disagree.

Dime a dozen looks? WTF are you talking about? Name ONE car that looks like this Camaro prototype. There isn't anything that looks even close to it, except for the original '68 Camaro.

Now contrast that with a Lexus ES330. Looks like the other 8 billion generic Japanese cars out there. LS430? Looks like a warped Mercedes S-class. Blends right in like camouflage. About as distinctive as a drop of water in the ocean. I'll give them a little bit of credit for the new GS and IS, but they still aren't as creative and distinctive as say the G35 coupe was when it came out.

And BTW, I think you have forgotten that the Camaro is supposed to be an affordable performance car. It'll probably be priced well under $30k for the base model, and $35k fully loaded. They could put a Lexus interior in it, but then it wouldn't be under $30k. Lexus doesn't even sell a car for under $30k.

It is true, and is something that GM seriously needs to figure out as it sells $68k+ Z06's now. Someone spending that kind of money doesn't want their carbon fiber, titanium connecting rod, 505hp, 6 piston brake caliper pride and joy being repaired by someone who normally does oil changes on Cavaliers, and gets an Aveo as a loaner car.
