Can i take my roomate?

I got a question i want to ask you guys, thats been on my mind for the past couple weeks. My roomate is a honda guy for life and is starting to build his second hatchback. His last one was a '93 with a b18 (jdm type r) swap, with all the works. I only rode in it once, but it was fast as hell. I never got a chance to go up against him with my coupe, so i have no idea how fast it really was. It was sold.

Here is my question, He has a 1993 civic hatchback cx slammed on type felx's awaiting a swap. The car weights 2,094 lbs and probably will shed a few more pounds since he alwasy guts the hatch and rear seat. He buddy is selling him a GSR engine with type r valve springs and type r cams, that dynoed at 180hp, 140lbs/tq to the wheels on his freinds car w/ intake, exaust, HF cats, ecu, ect. He will prolly squeez a few more ponnies from it while running a 4-1 header. He will also be running a Type r tranny and LSD, along with some 15 inch rotas or buddy clubs with 195 wide rubber.

My 2003 G35 coupe is getting its new VQ broken in right now. But by the time he get the swap ( 3 weeks to a month) i should have most my aftermarket parts back on, along with a coupple more. Here is the list:
Injen CAI
injen SES exhaust
Megan resonated test pipes
19x9.5F +19x10.5R Axis Hiros W/****ty Nitto 555 or KDW's

New mods:
5/8" Motordyne spacer
UR crank pulley

Reason for this post...Can i take him? From a stop? from a 5mph roll? on the highway?

that's tough, but from a power weight stand point:

180FWhp on a 2000lb car versus...
280RWhp on a 3500lb car............

I was being pretty generous with your mods. No offense meant at all, just based on reading from this and other sites.

power to weight ratio is not looking good for you. Especially considering he's on 15" light weight wheels, probably has 1000rpms on you, and that tranny is very very slick. Does he have a prosthetic arm for shifting? That might be the key factor, but other than that, I think he has you beat.

That Honda is going to be real quick. 180 HP at the wheels for a 2K lb car is awesome. He will be much faster than you from a stop or roll. The only chance you would have is to race him from some ridiculous speed since I'm not certain about how stable his car will be when he exceeds 100 MPH.

Ya, will probably have you in the beginning but once you reach about 60 or 70, you will pull heavily on him.

You wont start pulling away as easy as some might suggest as many of you know the hatch is gonna have topend like a mutha and the wieght advantage is too great.

He will probably take you until about 80mph then you should pull on him after that.

DOHC VTEC Hatches have top end. I used to have a dx with a gsr swap and let me tell you after 80 mph, the car was out all the way up to 140. You will most likely get smoked!!
