C6's aren't in the same league as the GTR ........

A Vette and a Skyline shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath after watching this video. What do you guys think?

please...GTR is going to be Z06 price and above and Z06 will destroy it..as for the C6..its going to be a touch competition with may be the GTR edging ahead a tad..but they are going to be about the same..

Well, until we actually see the price and performance of the new GTR, it is all speculation at to this point. But in terms of the last gen GTR compared to the last gen vette as seen on the clip, there isn't any comparison. Now as with most vehicles, performance usually improves from generation to generation. Time will tell, as to whether or not the GTR can continue to perform the C6 and still be priced below $70k.

That's a really cool video. I hope they do another battle with the new versions of each car. I like how the starting grid was based on the price.

Like the other vid posted by another member. The driver states that the Vette is a fun car to drive but feels unstable. The Vette finished well over 11 seconds behind the Skyline after several laps. It's best lap time was 4 seconds below the Skyline's as well. The C6 can't even compete with an Evo on a road track and for all the bragging that i've heard and read by the Vette masses, that is pretty sad. But in defense of the Vette, it is a beautiful car and as stated, will turn heads and is a monster on the top end. Other than that, it really can't be placed in the class of the elite sports cars of the world.

Well, to be honest that was a C5 against all the others. Maybe this would be fair if a real C6 is put into perspective?

That was pretty cool. Seems a little out of date though. It's too bad they didn't test the Z06 vette with 405hp & 400lb/ft tq, it might have not come in last. =P Also the Evo tested was the Evo VII, not the Evo VIII we have here in the America. They should do another when the new GTR comes out.

was that a joke? comparing a 2005 Vette to a 1999 GTR, to see if they're in the same league..?

anyway I think the Z06 and GTR will be in the same league... in terms of cost and performance potential...although out the box i would expect the Z06 to be quicker in most aspects...

wasnt this the Z tune version...which is rediculous to compare...a stock skyline could may be beat a C5 not a C5Z06 and same will go for a C6Z06...forget it..whatever pipe you smoking, put it down..

505hp, 470 lb torque and 3132lb, the GTR is going to be atleast 3300+ and with about 450ish hp and lower torque figure..it would be beaten by a Gallardo and a Gallardo is eaten by a Z06...

concur with the driving, but as well, four words: power to weight ratio.

Thanks for posting the video. Those guys know how to drive cars incredibly well. The cars appearing to be over the edge so many times but they never lost them. Amazing skill and awesome cars too.

Especially the few dabbles off-road- no lift whatsoever, eh? Suffering from watermelonitis between the legs.

Cheers,
D
