acceleration wise, its slower (6.8 sec 0-60)
even the A6 2.7 Twin turbo is still no match to the G but their ECUs can be modded very nicely

The Audi motor feels very soft by comparison. VWAG has never been able to get the DBW thing right if you ask me. Not super responsive.
The handling is ok, very front heavy- The sport suspension cleans things up big time. Though I feel the steering is vague by comparison to the G, even though R&T said the opposite. The interior is clearly superior in terms of feel for the Dash stroker in you. I like the looks of the sport model.

You can only get an Automatic in the 3.2 Direct Injection motor.

I like the feel of the G more. A perfect G would also have the interior of the Audi, and a better shock and spring setup. I think the VQ is one of the world's great motors- If the Audi had the VQ, it would be pretty hard to beat-

You can modify(chip) the ecu but you dont get that much for the v6. Its the 1.8 and 2.o turbos where you get the 30-50hp increase

i test drove one today , pretty slow and transmission is very long throw

Handling is good and clutch is soft but the steering shakes while the car moves and everytime i shift hard there is a jerk, fit and finish is very good but not worth 40k

If the A4 is anything like the 330xi, it'll be amazing and impressive but slow as hell. I simply couldn't justify jumping into a $10K MORE expensive car than the G35 for less power.

I had a 03 A4 1.8t. Great car. I would own one again. But reliability was questionable for the type of driving I do so I traded it in. Mine had the sport package and Quattro in Amulet Red. They stopped making that color that year. It was a awesome red. Here is a picture of my old one.

We owned a last gen 6cyl Audi before we got our G. It was a nice looking car, fun to drive when it wasn't being serviced. The engine was strong, but not as strong as the VQ especially down low. The tranny was a little notchy, but no more so than the G. The real kicker was the reliabilty. Nothing major ever happened, but it was in for warranty repairs something like 12 times in the two years we had it. Windows not working, alram malfunctions, engine coils, radio dropping out, blah blah blah. Mostly electrical.

I'm going to give VW/Audi some time to work on their manufacturing issues before I give them another shot. They have some nice looking cars, so I hope they can turn it around.

Yea. My window controls went south, radio would DIM, I had a engine code light the dealer could not resolve. That was the sum of the problems I had in the 9k of miles I had mine. LOL. But I wish I kept it and lived with the issues. It was a great looking car.

I have an '06 A4 with the 3.2l V6. It is definitely not "slow as hell". When I was out looking last fall I compared the A4 V6 Quattro and G35x back to back and they are so close as to be impossible for the driver to tell apart. I picked the A4 over the G35x because the interior was much nicer and that's where I spend my time. The G is a better buy if the cost is a major factor.

It doesn't. I have driven my friends 2002 A4 3.0 with sport package it is much slower and understeers like a FWD car.

Wow what are you dreaming? The V6 in the A4 is much much slower than a G35X. We are talking about 1.5 sec in the 1/4 slower and about 8 mph slower.
