Hard decision

Hi everyone i would just like to hear your opinions on the following issue

Well right now I have to opportunity to either own a 2003 g35 coupe or a 2002 bmw 330ci.
now I have looked around on the web and many reviews lean towards the bmw. I was just hoping for an oppinion from drivers of both.

key points:
performance
engine
handling
potential for mods
quality
luxury
reliability
ownership ( costs and such)
please try not to be too biased (Thogh i realize this is a g35 forum)

Bmw is a better refined looking car, but also BMW does keep residula value but that is 2 body styles ago so it may not retain as much value. I had a BMW coupe before and loved it, but what I tell my friends now is that my G stock when I took it from the dealer drove just as nice as my heavily modded 2002 3 series

Go with the G

BMW has finer luxry points...and if you get the sports package it should handle very well out of the box. More expensive to MOD, and service.

G35 Coupe - Looks sexier (more up o date), not as nice interior. Nice sounding exhaust, and faster...From a seat of the pants opinion, the BMW's handling feels better than any other car in its class.

BTW I currently own an E36M3...and looking to move to a G35 Coupe possibly...After driven both...Infiniti has the closest offering to BMW's ride package...that's why I'm here.

Damn original, new BMW parts are expensive ...And I'd find a good INDY shop to service your BMW...Stealers charge anywhere from $120 to $140 Hour
MODs are plentiful for BMW's...No shortage of aftermarket makers...But most of them charge a premium for the BMW name.

I'm here to learn about the exense costs of owning an G35...But I've heard that Infiniti parts can be expensive too.

This hasn't been mentioned, but my insurance agent told me that BMW's are more expensive to insure.

When I did my comparison (1997 M3 Sedan versus G35 Sedan) they came out about equal (G was only slightly more cheaper)...Safety features in a BMW definately help them...However they are more expensive to insure because they are EXPENSIVE to fix when crashed.
In general...age, driving experience, driving record, where you live will play a bigger role in insurance costs.

ok I think I can decide now, after looking at the g35 coupe, 330ci, and m3 all under $25,000 used i think i will go with the g35

reasons: More reliable and alot cheaper longterm maintnence (i heard that beamers breakdown alot after warrenty passes)

more power than 330ci

used m3's have too much mileage and insurance plus + maintnence after breaking down = hell

used m3's have an average of 75000 miles

g35 looks so damn cool

I used to own an '04 325i (premium & sport package , 18" wheels, HID). Sales guy gave me a really good deal(invoice) on it and a 2.9% financing. So I couldnt refuse to buy it and loved it for the first six months. Then its gotten really dull after that. Power performance wise was weak, I know its about 20-30 hp difference from the 330, but I have driven a Z4 as a loaner and I think its pretty much the same engine as the 330? That Z4 power output didnt excite me either. Interior of my 325 was just plain somewhat like the G. However, handling was great with the sport suspension package.
But I would not buy another bmw again , its just overated for me.Maybe it was just the BIMMER hype thing that got me into it the first place.
In the end, I sold it and got the G. Im REALLY loving this car now and cant wait to drive it again. Power/accelaration is stunning out of the box and fun to drive. Hopefully I dont have the 6 month syndrome again with my G =).

now i realize that there are threads about this before but none that specifically fit my age

I was just wondering if anyone had similar insurance rates (full coverage) for the g35 coupe
within these criterias

in highschool
honor roll
very safe neighborhood (suburbs)
g35(great safety: stability control, abs, fr+side airbags, etc.)
professional driving school (does driving school help??)

and if anyone knows how to lower costs further please post
