KEEP G or STI?

Ok guys i am in a bit of a dilema here...My G is is too expensive for me to handle...i am 17 and i simply cannot afford it...monthy payments which i pay half of are killing me as well as fuel costs. Now i am thinking of purchasing an 04 STI for around 24thousand. The main problem I have is that i am absolutely in love with the G ....but i have to face reality and the reality basically is that i cannot afford such a nice car at a young age. Now i need some suggestions...should i swallow my pride and ask the parents to pick up the payments????or just get an STI and be "unspoiled" with its cheap interior. I value all of your opinions and i was wondering if you could help me out with this decision..thanx guys

Also...i would consider other cars as well just as long as they are sporty/somewhat powerful

To be honest an 04 STI isn't going to be that cheap either.... If I were in your situation I would be looking at 03 or 04 SRT-4's... The payments would be perfect for a person your age and the performance you get from that car is awsome.. Never let a car make you broke...

It sounds like you need a bigger reality check. If you cannot afford a G35, you cannot afford a STI. Until you get through school, get something used and much cheaper. There is plenty of time in the future to own more expensive cars.

I know from a few friends who have STI's. They can't get better than 250 miles a tank. And thats with putting 15 gallons of gas in. That is terrible gas mileage. Way worse than ours.

And 24k for a used one, but insurance is much higher on that car especially at your age. So in the end you will be spending more on the STI than on the g.

A guy I fly with has an STi, and he's now sick of it (less than a year old). Not really a daily driver, I guess. He's disappointed with the tin feel of the car, too.

Imagine what he would do if he had a SRT4 for a year.

my friend with cams boltons and tuning is making 247whp'

the wrx is another great choice, lower insurance premiums then the sti/evo, plus they can be really quick. I had an 02 that i picked up for 13k a year ago, put 1200 in well planned budget mods, and could pick on g35s all day.

Just pick up a used WRX, and have some fun modding it. You'll save money, still have a fast car, and learn a lot in the process.

Don't be the spoiled 17 year old with a parent-funded G35!!

By the way, when I was 17 (in 1997), I was driving a 1990 Ford Tempo!! So count yourself lucky to have a G35, a WRX, an SRT-4, etc.
