Thumbs up Opinions needed.G35 or GTO?

hey guys ive been lingering around these forums for a while but i dont talk too much...anyway i had my first test drive with an 03 g35 and i absolutely loved it...then i test drove an altima, accord, g6 coupe, civic si, rsx-s, and a gto. besides the 03 g35 and the 06 gto nothing really impressed me...so now im in a dilemma

im getting a new car (bye bye 98 accord coupe) and i want something thats fast, fun, and of course sensible...im 20 years old and going to college and working...i really love the g35s responsive throttle and looks, but in the test drive experience i didnt have a hole lot of headroom (in the excitement i didnt play with the seat)...im 6'3" about 225 so i definatly need some room to work with...
the gto was a little bit more roomier from what i could tell and damn is that thing fast! enough said about that
now it really comes down to an 03 gto off a lease, or an 05 gto left over or private seller...both r fairly hard to find for my price range of around 25-27k but it can be done. i know u guys may be bias toward the g35 but i want some honest opinions about comfort, power, and overall feel of the car...ill be doing some traveling so i want something thats good for about a 2 hour trip...i also dont want to get a whole lot into the modding scene again, but im sure ill be singing a different tune once 400hp is standard
from what ive read the g35 does about 14.2 in the quarter, not sure about 0-60, and the gto does 13.2 in the quarter and 4.7 in the 0-60
so what do u guys think? what is the car for me?

all input is appreciated!

thanks

to tell you the truth without being biased, the g35 is going to last you longer than the GTO. The G will last you long past 150K miles, good luck getting even 100K without problems with the GTO. I love the looks of the GTO, it's a badass car but i just dont think it would stand up to the challenge. And if you're making 2 hour trips often you'll want the G.

If u like the looks and the steering response of the GTO then i say get it over the G35. Make sure you get 2005 though!

I think the G35 looks a lot nicer and has a MUCH better interior. GTO is definately cool, esp. with the V8, but I'd take a little less power on a nicer looking car, rather than all performance and no luxury.

Well, it really comes down to what is really important to you...not anyone else. If I were you, getting the G would be a no brainer......however I am not you......

Good luck and just remember to make your decision based on what makes YOU happy!

you're in college? get a STI or EVO8 and enjoy the rocket performance.

when you quiet down, come back to something like the G when you're older.

Both good cars, but completely different. The G definitely wins in the looks department, while the GTO wins in the performance with that big @ss v8.

The other night I was getting on the freeway when a GTO zoomed past me in the carpool lane, the rumble of the v8 is a thing of beauty.

But looks wise, you'd be hard pressed to find a car that offers the looks and refinement, with the amount of performance it offers as well, for that price.

I agree with the above post. If you value performance over styling and luxury amenities, go with the GTO. If you value style and luxury over performance, go with the G35 Coupe. Everything else is pretty much a wash between the two cars. You can't go wrong with either one, its just that each car has a different set of advantages and disadvantages. You just have to figure out which are more important to you.

Word... I would have liked the Evo myself but it's for the younger era. 27 = G.

I too would argue that you would get more mileage and less car trouble out of a nissan than a pontiac - But I have nothing to back it up.

You can always flip a coin if you really can't decide. Then go by your first reaction after the flip.

Be a Man! Get a GTO with a big powerful V8!

But seriously, if your 20, good looking, badass, get a GTO.

People will think yoru cooler in a GTO, lol

But seriously, a 03 Coupes, a little, older.

05 GTO, brand new!

I'd take a GTO. Who needs reliability lol

I think he said 03 G35s - sedan, not coupe. How's the gas milage on the GTO? Something to think about on a college budget, not that the G has great milage, but maybe better than a V8.
