Everything considered, G35 coupe the best?
If you consider price, performance, styling, practicality, reliability, and quality is there a better performance coupe than the G35? The M3 is a great car, but is it really worth $20K more than the G35? The Acura TL is competitive in price but its front wheel drive is a show stopper IMO. The Vette C6 has awesome performance at a very reasonable price, but it doesn't have a back seat, and most Chevy Dealers are the pits. The Mustang has decent performance, but its interior is far inferior to that of the G35.
So can anyone suggest a better car when you consider my criteria? |

The cars in the same class as the G35 I like the best are: (in order of preference)
1) G35 Coupe (Yeah, this is why I bought one) 2) Lexus IS350 (A VERY close 2nd. I love Lexus cars. I've had 2 SC400's) 3) BMW 330 (Slightly below 1&2. Love Bimmers too. I've had 2 5 series and a 3 series. Loved 'em all) |

If we're considering any price and straight up value I would say bang for the buck awards go to the G35, Legacy GT, C6 Vette (and Z06), Acura TL, and Mazda3 just in terms of what you get (be it performance, luxury, a good solid car, etc...) for the cost.
I like the IS350/330i too, but I think they're priced too high to be considered "bang for the buck" options. |

i go thru cars quite often (habitual problem), my last car was a 2004 M3 - yes, it is worth extra $20k IF YOU HAVE IT, i've had both SMG and 6spd, preferred the 6spd, you can find lots of used ones but usually beaten up by young drivers, they have had their fair share of engine probs including a major engine problem
have you also thought about: BMW 540i 6spd Audi S4 i'm a big fan of the 2002-2003 BMW 540i 6spd - i think it's a great all around car, really enjoyed it. i just got my 06 G 6mt -- so the verdict is still out on the G...

With the exception of reliability and quality, I would say the G35 Coupe is still the best in its class.
The class being sporty GT Coupes priced between $30k-$40k. It offers the most style, features, and performance for the money, even after 3 years of production. Not perfect, but best in its class for the money. Comparing it to cars like the C6 Corvette and 540i makes no sense - totally different class and price category of cars than the G35C. A 2-seat $45k+ sports car and a 4 door luxury sedan that costs $60k+ are not in the same category as the G35. |

The G is definitely best bang for the buck, hands down.
