Grandpa's Cadillac? NO Way! It's a Dang G killer.

So here's the deal,

Now im not a big "street racer" or anything but this time couldn't ignore this guy....

I was rolling the other day, came to a stop light and made my left hand turn.
Now, accelerating slowly/regularly and i notice a Caddy behind me, right on my tail. So i think " ah, this big 4 door cts has no chance"...and i floor it, he pulled to the next lane and accelerated too....
At first 20-85mph we stayed right at my rear quarter panel, then ALL the sudden he pulls up and looked at me(while still floored), then bam, he was gone, im talking 130+mph in seconds and i barely hit 105mph by then. he had me by like 4-7 car lengths.
Now, as he passed me(and blew my doors off) i noticed the V logo. Yup- it was one of those new CTS-V, 400hp, 0-60 in under 5 seconds etc.

http://www.cadillac.com/cadillacjsp/...ion=Powertrain

Of course it made sense then but, i felt like a school girl man, the guy killed me, lead me on till 95mph then said screw this guy and killed me.

Honestly, i think he had even more then stock, while rolling he accelerated so hard.... maybe bolt-ons but i bet supercharged, etc.

So watch out for that dang V logo, it will kill stock Gs.

You could probably stick that engine in a Yugo and beat us from a roll.

Definitely don't mess with it unless you've got boost.

it will never kill my (almost) stock g .................................... in the canyons. Sadly, way too many cars will kill of keep up with a stock g in a straight line. But they handle great.

Just side note:
CTS-V has almost M3 like handling. So in the canyons it will be a close one also.

a cts-v will pull HARD on a G35 with no bolt ons. they are pretty fast cars, and as far as i know they dont have too much more weight. it would take FI on a G to be close with a CTS-V and a CTS-V with a tune and bolt ons will pretty much turn the lights of on a FI G. sorry guys, they are a lot faster.

I drove a couple track sessions at PIR last year in the same group with a CTS-V. It was his first time out, so I was able to stay with him through the twisties, but he would absolutely kill me in the straights.

Sorry. I have to disagree. Don't make generalizations about FI G's. There are many with 500+ rwhp and all in by 4500 rpm, deep in the 12's or high 11's and trapping almost 120 mph in the 1/4. The CTS-V will need more than bolt ons to match 500 rwhp.

ok not all FI G cars but take the LS6 with head and cam work, a tune no FI and it would be hard to find a FI g that could keep up. It is possible and not really that hard to get a head and cam LS6 into the LOW LOW 11s high 10s.

V-Cadis are fast but they only get 8 mpg if you got a semi-heavy foot... My friend has one and he's thinking about trading it in because of the gas bill.
