Mercedes really better than Infiniti?

All my friends think Mercedes is better than Infiniti. They think they are so fast. Yea right. They think they are just dressed up Nissans.

Well this is what i said to them.

Them: "My Mercedes will blow your little Infiniti away ANYDAY."
And i said:
Me: "You will see once i blow past you in the 2 person lane getting on the freeway at 80mph+"

Yea i know, i'd never do this IRL so dont flame me lol. It shut them up so thats all that matters.

NO FLAMES!

uh, clearly depends on what mercedes ur talkin about. no c-class will beat you except for the c32 AMG. you should hang with e class up to the e500. e55 will eat you up. not sure about the roadsters.

mercedes does make some really fast cars. they're just not very common...

Well, I'm sorry to break it sown to you man but your friends are right. A mercedes benz IS better than Infiniti. They are better then most car companies out there i not the best, and I am not including ferraris and etc... But as far as the fast part goes... I dont know about that being so true. Mecedes may have very fast cars out there but require plenty of money to buy. If they are comparing our Infiniti G35 to their cars which are in the same price range, then I beleive there is not one of them that is quicker than ours. Anyone, please correct me if I am wrong.

Actually Infiniti is Nissan...in Japan.

But if you were to say that....then you'd say all Acuras are dressed up Hondas.

Or all Lexus' are dressed up toyotas...

Youre friends are ignorant, arrogant, idiots.

Yes, Mercedes are better cars, but sh*t, they better be considering their damn price tag.

And yes, mercedes does have insanely fast cars, they are just not that common..

Yea, im talking G35.

I dont think the C class is all its cracked up to be.

And why is mercedes so good? Because they been around before the time of the dinasaurs? or because they are buck fricken expansive.

Mercedes has always been a prestigious luxury car company. They are known for their bulletproof cars, and thats how they have always been considered. They still do have their share of problems, especially their electrical components, but they are still known to last a long *** time.

mercedes doesn't have such a great reliability rep, it's what kept me away from the c350. their interiors are very nice usually and it's a car worth getting if you have patience and want the brand prestige to do something for you. i think this is generally true of most european makes, but i still believe japanese cars are the most reliable overall and that's why i looked at the g and IS more closely.

You are asking if Mercedes is better.........better at what exactly?? Better at reliabilty? Better performance? Better looking? Better value? It depends on what you are speaking about specifically. There are some areas where Mercedes is "better", ie performance, prestige......however there are areas that Infiniti I think is better, ie; looks, value, and reliability.

Taxicabs are Mercs in Germany. The aura is exaggerated here in NA.

That said, I've driven a few lately, and I'm impressed with their focus to philosophy. The euros aren't so bent on 0-60, or 1G on the skidpad. The Mercs I've driven, regardless of year and price, have the following at heart:

Balance- completely neutral, moreso than many sportier cars. Want to move the back out a bit in a turn? A bit of lift on turn-in or nudge of the right foot gets you there. Wanna push a bit? Turn-in more aggressively once set. "Trading front for back" mid-corner is fun. Ultimate limits are lower, initial body roll greater, and this is how safety is established.
Suspension- is sorted. More compliant than most sports cars, but the car keeps it's wheels on the road on crappy pavement, and despite initial body roll, the car does take a firm set, letting the driver know what to expect, and instilling confidence. (A regular WRX in contrast[issue addressed with STi suspension], just continues to roll on its long legs, never letting the driver know exactly how much further he/she can go, imo [so non-STi, WRX-driving flamers need not apply, TIA]
Finally, Merc engine characteristics are designed to motivate what tend to be normally heavier cars smartly. I'm fascinated how they achieve torque spread of max torque (not a peak per se, but a range of say, 3000 rpm at max). This is a great way to make cars go fast on the autobahn.

Ultimately, you'd be pressed to convince a Merc owner that the reliability of his car is very poor (which they are, regardless of source you believe), and even more pressed to get him to buy Japanese. Many of my German superiority complex car owning friends bear this out. In cases like this, I send the following link to my friends:

http://en.autos.sympatico.msn.ca/adv...home&pos=Edit3

Not too many Mercs on that list.

Cheers,
Derek

Benz has amazing build quality and great speed too. the new engines are a pretty good match for us too. electrical problems ofcourse with all those gadgets, but they are great with warranty and recalls. second any problem arises, they send out letters to fix them whether or not your car has been affected. I have yet to see Nissan or Infiniti say "ok look we have a tranny problem, or axle cliking etc."
