ws6 vs G

If a stock 6mt G35 and a stock ws6 raced, who would win? i read that the ws6 has something like 310 hp and something like 330tq. So about what would that be to the wheels? im guessing the ws6 would win, if so would it take me off the line and just keep pulling away, or would it start pulling away at higher speeds? also, what is the difference of the regular trans am and the ws6? thanks guys

A WS6/Camaro Z28/Camaro SS/Trans Am/Firebird Formula would absolutely kill any stock G35. It'd pull from the line, it'd pull at low speeds, and at high speeds it'd just keep pulling harder and harder. No contest.

The difference between a WS6 and a non-WS6 is the ram air hood, and a few other tweeks (wheels, swaybars I think, etc). In a straight line, all the LS1 F-body variants I listed above are basically the same speed.

Agreed. A WS6, although "officially" has 320hp probably has more like 350hp based on what I've seen.

well that sucks. does the ws6 have any differences under the hood from a regual trans am, or than the hood and the suspension? would they absolutley kill me? or just slowly pull? i thought it would be a decent race.

Pulling the air filter on those LS1 motors will net you 13hp at the wheels. That just shows you how much hp is locked up in those motors. We would be absolutely killed in a straight line.

Not a decent race at all.

Any LS1 car will murder a stock G35 anyday of the week. The LS1 is one badass motor and responds real good to mods. Ive seen stock LS1s lay down 300 to the wheels and ones with full exhaust get near 350. To give you an idea of what they are capable of most LS1s in stock trim trap about 105mph in the 1/4 mile.

that's okay, you're not required to sport a 'rattail' when driving a g35.

All LS1 cars have the same thing under the hood. The WS6 hood's nostrils kinda feed into the air box, but it doesn't really do anything significant for performance. The WS6 also has a different exhaust, but again it doesn't really do anything for performance.

FWIW, I changed out a few things on my LS1 and it traps 120mph in the 1/4, dyno'd 424rwhp just on motor...no boost, no spray, and I drove it like that for 50k miles without a single problem. I use that car for when I want to have fun, and my G35 is for driving every day. Powerwise between these cars, there just isnt any comparison. My LS1 also gets better gas milage than the puny 3.5L in the G35....what the hell.

If Infiniti made a 5+ litre G I'd buy it in an instant....or...just make my own G57 by putting an LS1 in

the reason the american cars get really good gas mileage on the highway is their ultra tall 6th gear. the corvette is at like 1500ish RPM at 60. we are at like 2500.. that explains a whole lot.
