Which would you pick?

I've been shopping around for a nice used car, and have narrowed down to these choices. I was just wondering which one would you guys get........ in case my lottery ticket pays off.

1) Ferrari 550 Maranello

2) Aston Martin DB9 Convertible

3) Mercedes SL55 AMG

4) Ferrari F360 Modena

5) Bentley Continental GT

Each of these cars have their own strength and weakness. Price is around 120-150k range used. I plan to use it as a every-other-day driver to work. I am hoping maintenance and repair won't break my piggy bank as well.

Thanks

I think 125k to 150k can get you a brand new SL55 AMG. If you want to up the budget to 200k, the SL65 Bi-Turbo V12 awaits you. But the Ferrari F360 Modena will hurt some necks.

The Modena has a certain exotic appeal, but it's not as fast as you might think. I would pick a 996 turbo over it anyday and mod it, or maybe a GT2, or maybe wait for the new turbo? Since that's not an option, I'd go with the DB9 - class, comfort, and exclusivity. SL55 is a heavy automatic pig, and in Florida there's more 55's than regular 500's. Nobody notices them, same with the GT and I doubt Socal is any different.

It's unbelieveable how you read my mind. Couldn't have said it better.

I swear I see so many GT Continentals it's not even funny, just in the valley. If I head over to wilshire blvd I see them like civics.

In your $120K price range...

- SL55 AMG brand new for $120K (if you must have a convertible)

- Aston Martin V8 Vantage brand new for $120K (handles/brakes better than the DB9, looks just as sexy if not better, and is almost as fast.)

- Porsche 911 Carrera S brand new for $81K

DB9...

You said you don't want to pay up the butt for maintenance...I hear the Ferrari costs a lot to keep up...

Just test drive them all and see which one makes you feel the most "tingly" haha...

I just saw a DB9 conv. on the highway - hot damn that thing was absolutely gorgeous. I can usually find something about a cars design I dislike but they're pretty much perfect. So ya, DB9.
