Which car?
OK everyone I sold my G to save some money for other things in life....So since I'm driving an ASTRO van(I love this van
)around I've been getting tempted to buy a used project car:240sx S13 SR20DET MR2 Turbo the old one: 1990-1995 i think are the years ? VW Corrado G60 Any other cars of that age and nature are welcome, please input your thoughts. But anyways, which should I get? I know they have their pros and cons. I want to know your thoughts on which one YOU would choose or if not, another car you would go with instead. Thanks everyone! Oh, for me, I want to get the Corrado since I personally haven't seen to many of those around lately...the Corrado is FWD correct?

Get the corrado, just because not many people have it and it has a lot of potential.

Yea I'm leaning toward the Corrado G60, it comes factory supercharged and like you said lots of potiental. Anyone know if its RWD or FWD. I think its FWD, but I'm not certain on the G60 models, Thanks.

I had a Corrado and loved it, But get the VR6 92.5 and up. The G60's supercharger ( G-ladder) has lots of faults, alot. EIP tuning makes some nice kits if you want to go FI and there are 3.1ltr stroker kits for the VR6 too. The Corrado is on my list of cars to re-buy later on, I also just sold my MR2 and that car is alot of fun as well. Check out MR2 owners club on the web. You should know that both the Corrado and MR2 are money pits and parts are not cheap or they will be small but add up. If I had to pick one it would be the Corrado due to the stock VR6 with alot of TQ and with a few mods is quite quick with a huge top end, not to mention it has a look that most people wont know what it is due to their are only about 17K Corrados ever sold in the US.

Cool, so you recommend the VR6. Is the stock VR6 more reliable and does it have more power than the stock G60?
I ask because the G60 is supercharged and if it was reliable enough to increase the boost a bit, I would be happy with that. Probably just add some breathing mods, intake, headers, exhaust. And of course the flywheel and clutch. I'll do some engine work, replacing some parts to make sure everything is running correctly, water pump, fuel pump, belts, etc anything thats worn and not working. Other than that, I wanted to do some cosmetic work (body kit), rims, and a nice sound system. And then a nice paint job. So my cost would be: OEM replacement parts(anything worn or not working) + breathing mods, + body kit, + rims, + sound system, + paint job (maybe) Any insight is always apprecaited, thanks. The G60 has 150hp if I remember right and the VR6 in the Corrado has 178hp (in the GTI and Jetta 93 to 98 had 172) with alot more TQ too. When I first got mine I went with these mods Neuspeed- P-flow, chip, front strut bar, springs and shocks, sways, short shift kit, Autotech exhaust, tint and some 17's then 18's. Now this was in 94 and 95 so I was rolling big rims for the time. I would put 18's on again in either a simple 5,6 spoke or a mesh wheel works wheel on this car like the BBS LM or RGR. Dont go for a crazy or real modern looking wheel for this car as it clashes with its style and will ruin its looks ( I've seen some hot Corrados that were killed with the wrong wheel) After I did this I swaped it out for a 3.1 stroked motor with the schrick var.intake manifold and a 100 wet shot. You might have a few more clutch choice now so you will need to look around I had a Advanced clutch with a light weight flywheel and added the Quaife LSD for traction. ADB makes a nice lip kit and Eruobuni (spelling) has some cool kits too. The best looking Corrados seem to be the ones that keep the looks with the period so I'd go with that and you will have a car that will most likely get as many or more looks as your G because you never see them any more. Man all this talk is really making me want another one bad
Check out the websites for EIP tuning, Neuspeed, ABD, and Autotech. Good luck and keep me updated.

SR71, thanks for your input and experience....I'm sure we'll keep in touch in this matter. I know I'll be asking more questions in the future if I decide to go through this route.
If you don't mind me asking, you can pm if you want to keep it private, but how much did you sell your corrado for? I want to get an idea of how much I'll be looking to spend. I know your car was moded so you probably sold it for much more than a stock corrado. Oh and how much was the stroker kit ? how much whp were you getting? sorry for so many questions...I'm just so curious now.
