Anybody own a Chysler 300? I might pick one up.

So while my car is in the shop (getting lip and sideskirts painted and installed), I am driving a rented Chrysler 300 for the week. I wanted to see how it drives because you can't tell on a short test drive. Those things have such cheap interior and the leather feels like plastic. The dashboard and all of the controls are so... domestic.

The thing I do like ALOT is the exterior. "Poor Man's Bentley" as my buddy put it. The V6 is pretty smooth but I want a V8. Not very practical with the gas prices these days I know but hey you only live once. This car is going to be mainly used for work or going out. It's very roomy. My buddy asked me why I don't just sell the G, screw getting a second car and buy a CLS500 and fix that up. I was thinking about it but BMW's and BENZO's are just not my style. I mean it's not big deal to drive a BMW or BENZ, anyone with a job can lease one. I choose cars according to Handling, Power, and Styling then making them into how I want them without breaking the bank too much.

It's going to be White on deep dish polished rims or Black on black rims w/ polished lips.

Anybody own one of these or knows anything about them... good or bad experiences?

im not sure but i know dodge has that v8 that shuts off 4 cylinders (i think its 4) to safe on gas while your cruising... im not sure if that motor comes in the 300c... but i went to drop off my friend at a stereo shop in the G and this guy with a 300c says "wana trade cars?" he loved his car but he just like the look of the G.. i personaly think the 300 are nice cars.. i hear the interior falls apart like after a year or two (just a rumor)... but ya all you need to do is rim it up and tint it up and a strut grill and your pretty much good to roll

The 300c has MDS, which shuts off 4cly at highway speeds. As for interior quality it may not be the best but im sure you could easily live with it.

If you want to buy one, please go rent one for a day. I rented one and found that (for me anyway) the seats were the most uncomfortable things I have ever sat in.

It's a really nice ride... makes for a good alternative to the G coupe. If you are going to sell the G coupe and get something higher priced you could always do a BMW M3. I know BMW/Benz isn't your style but the M3 is in a league of it's own.

Well, I plan on keeping my G. The 300 if I get one will be my "business car."

The first few that I saw with polish grill and nice chrom rims are pretty sweet, but now they are just about play out, seems like everyone have excat same set-up and all end up look the same.

My mom just bought a 300C Hemi and I will be the first to admit that I bashed the car when she said she was going to buy. I took it for an hour and half drive to get the windows tinted for her and I must say that I am super impressed. Perhaps the interior in the rental was a low grade model, but her interior is 10X's better then what we have in the G!! The leather seating surfaces are more supple! The quality seems to be way better and the power is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet! For a big car, it hauls arse! It does not ride like floating on a cloud like her previous lincolns and caddy, but it does ride nice. It rides a lil firm (Mercedes firm) but is still very comfortable.

My biggest gripes: The short windows - can't see sh!t if you pull up too close to a stoplight!

HVAC controls - knobs...too old school for my taste

Other then that, I am actually VERY impressed with the car!
