Picked up my ///M roadster.

Sold my Z4 2 months ago, and finally am back in a rodaster. The acceleration is awesome. The car's not broken in yet, and even a gentle burst up to 4000RPM makes my G humbled.

Amazing. If your car ever gets stolen, it was me.

I wish the Z4 M Roadsters were more distinctinve on the outside compared to the regular Z4's, though.

Faster than an SLK350, for sure.

Faster than an SLK55 AMG, not so sure. I think they're about the same?

Nice car, btw. I bet it handles like a beast!

Nice ride

It has an m3 engine in it. so it better be faster then the slk 350, but its not faster then an slk55 amg (its about 10 grand cheaper then one too i believe). Btw its 0.2 secs faster then an m3 to 60 (4.6).

Not faster than the SLK55 AMG, at least not by the spec sheets. The AMG has 355/376, while the M4 has 330/262. So it seems the AMG pulls better from a dead stop because of it's lower torque band. Once they are up to speed on straight line, it will be a driver's race. I am pretty sure the M4 will lag on twisties, as the AMG is pretty stellar in that category.

Nice car. I sat in one at the dealer, the steering wheel is thicker than my ///M3 steering wheel.

Daveed, why would you want a hard top?

Thanks for all the praises! :-P I was half-expecting to be bashed since this is a G35 forum.

Here's some new pictures my friend took. That's his E46 M3.

Like others have mentioned, the MZ4 is a lot faster than the SLK 350. It's not even close as a matter of fact. But it is slower than the SLK55 AMG.

The M might have a chance to beat the AMG on the track though. It ran 5 full seconds faster than the M3 on Nurburgring.

By the way, in case some of you looked up the specs and read on BMWNA's website that the M3 is quicker. It's already been published on a few magazines that the 0-60mph times aren't consistent with one another because BMW AG and BMW NA publish their "OWN" times.

BMW AG - 0-62 mph:

MZ4: 5.0 seconds
M3: 5.2 seconds

BMW NA - 0-60mph:

MZ4: 4.9 seconds
M3: 4.8 seconds

Why did BMWNA publish the M3 is quicker? No one knows. But the MZ4, at 200lbs lighter with the same engine/gearing (and 3 less HP), is definitely quicker than the M3. No doubt about that.

You know what I just realized today? the Lexus SC430's base price is $66k! I thought it was around $49k. I can't believe it's so expensive. I would rather get the SLK AMG55, Z4M, or a used SL rather than the SC.

It must be due for a redesign because the same ugly shape has been there for about 5-6 years now.
